I live in a very hard water area too, but if they use it I'll be happy to replace the filters. If they don't, it will go to my sister as hers currently favour her Fish tank for drinking!

Um, is it still a fish tank? Or does it just have some rather nice pebbles and plants in it?!

  • As was mentioned before, these are good for cats with renal problems. When my cat was diagnosed with Feline CRF I got one for him so that he would always have fresh water available - but more so cats with dehydration issues can sometimes have trouble stooping to drink from a bowl so the raised surface of this fountain makes it much easier for them to get access to water and encourages them to drink often.

i can personally reccomend catit drinking fountain, its not as bulky as others, its basically just a larger bowl that cats dont need to bend down to drink (apparently cats drink more this way, mine did which was important as he had renal failure).

    currently £16.99 on amazon

These are also brilliant for small dogs too! I bought one for my Scottie when he had liver disease as I had read that filtered, flowing water was better for all animals. He loved it and used it until he passed.

This cat fountain is the best I have tried so far.
I have 4 Ragdolls and 2 Maine coons and they really do test everything to the max.
I had the catit fountain (dome shaped) this was a nightmare lasted 5 months. Then had the Fresh flow deluxe had to dismantle the full fountain to clean filter endless problems with pump .
The cat mate fountain is a well thought out fountain, power lead is connected near the base of fountain meaning you don't have to unplug from wall everytime you clean it , easy to dismantle top lifts off pump is at the underside of this. Leaving just the base with filter easy to clean.I had this for 16 months now and if it did pack in I would either buy a new pump or if they are still this price a new fountain.
