We had our car air con re-gassed at Kwik Fit a couple of weeks ago. £45. It worked for one day and then nothing. we returned again and they said they had none in but were waiting for a delivery. not to be put off I went back after a week and asked them to do it again. This they did but said if it didn't work this time we should seek an air con specialist as we may have a leak, although he said their machine didn't detect one.
drove away and great lovely and cool. day after with the temps in the 80's i looked forward to the long cool drive ahead. Argh ! again after just one day nothing. how frustrating and what a wasted of £45

Sounds like you have a leak. This is not Kwik Fit's fault. You should definitely contact a specialist.

When this happened to me last year, they gave me the money back no problems because it hadn't worked and they have their money back guarantee.

Kwik-Fit have an offer which in itself is competitive, £45 to have a vehicle air conditioning system recharged, main dealers will want up to £100 for the same job.

To sweeten the deal if the temperature at the vent doesn't fall by 10% after the recharge then you get the deal for free.

It is a perfect time to have the work done, two to three years is the norm on most cars.

The free offer makes it even better.

Had my air -con done by kwikfit on sunday. They seemed to know what they were doing although to be fair once two hoses are connected the machine takes over, drains the existing gas, introduces new oil and tests for leaks before refilling. Took about an hour, seems fine now. Ps my car is 3 1/2 years old and the aircon system was empty.

you mentioned your system was empty. was it completely empty? after the regas fill up at kwik fit did your aircon hold the gas and function well?

    thanks
