Excellent Priced Car AirCon Recharging £45 or Free

Kwik-Fit have an offer which in itself is competitive, £45 to have a vehicle air conditioning system recharged, main dealers will want up to £100 for the same job.

To sweeten the deal if the temperature at the vent doesn't fall by 10% after the recharge then you get the deal for free.

It is a perfect time to have the work done, two to three years is the norm on most cars.

The free offer makes it even better.

Can you trust these people - I got them to change two tyres on my car last year, they jacked the car up incorrectly and caused just under £500's worth of damage to the sill.

my local air con place (they do refrigeration, air con for offices - that kaind of thing)

    They'll do my BMW's aircon for £20.

Forget Kwik Fit - unless you want a 16 year old asbo ridden teenager to 'professionally' sort yr car out.....

I have had this done, I found that the change to the air con system was really noticeable. The bloke who sorted it out for me was really friendly and helpful not an 'asbo ridden teenager.' I think Kwik Fit have a really bad reputation, but most of its not deserved. Accidents happen, but its the way they sort it out that matters.

Do you know if they fix leaks too?
I seemingly have a small leak. Well my car does!

Anyone know of a decent company to retro fit aircon? My Mum has been quoted £1000 to have it fitted to her Suzuki Wagon R (yeah, I know!) by the local main dealer which I think is a bit steep?

Retro fitting aircon really is difficult, it involves additional belt drives, coolant radiator, controls/switches and in most cases ECU reprogramming. Personally the easiest and cheapest way to add aircon is to sell the Wagon R privately and buy another one with it already fitted.
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.

    Top tip here.
If you measure your temperature in Kelvin (like scientists) then a 10% fall would require your aircon to take you from 20C down to about -9 :)
    Can I help?
