Thanks to all for their input. I think the jist is that the RTA should apply given that my road is a free for all and there are no restrictions to its use, and if that is the case, riding the quad would be illegal. Think we may need to seek legal advice as the neighbours are ignoring police warnings and it's inevitable that the bike will be out more during the Summer.

Sorry I seem to have sparked a dispute...

Well you might get the old fob off by the police; "it's on private land so civil matter" line especially if it's kids messing about. If it was me, I would mention that you suspect the 'driver' has been drinking... they will be there like a shot!!

Don't be silly, nothing to do with you at all. Just a newbie who cannot have a sensible, mature and reasonable debate without resorting to trying to ridicule other members who he thinks are on a lessor level than he is. You only have to see the childish insults to see what I mean.

All forums have at least one! But sooner or later, he will ousted unless he grows up! ;)
    PLEASE NOTE
My advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.

Like that time you quoted me, edited the quote and said "There, I've fixed that for you" when I was actually right?;)
