Customer Service at Asda is not good these days, wonder if it is since the takeover by Walmart. I returned some slippers that had fallen apart after a matter of weeks. The assistant went off and fetched the Deputy Manager who informed me that in her opinion the slippers were "well worn". I pointed out the date on the receipt - thus proving I had only had them for a short while. Deputy Manager then responded that she had some light-coloured slippers at home and they were nothing like as dirty as mine were. Made me feel a right !!!!!!!! I gave up at this point and went home and wrote to the store manager complaining that the deputy had made me feel as if I was living in filth to have my slippers in that state. I didnt even get the courtesy of a reply.Ellie

In the past I have always found that Asda is one of the best places to complain. I had worked in sales for 5 yrs, in my experience it all comes down to the manager. If he believes in good customer service by offering refunds, sympathy or cash gestures, it rubs off on the rest of the staff.
I can't say their is an easier way than to be polite at first, and then get demanding when things dont go to plan. I always complain instore for a quick fix, if nothing is done I take it to the HQ, where in most companys are more than willing to please witha peace offering.
Well done for winning the battle though, and I've certianly learned a few new tricks here too0
