You are all obviously in bed by now, which is where I'm off to in a few moments.
Just thought I'd let you know that I'm still around and rushing about like a headless chicken.
Hilstep: Just watch it will you? We can't have you lying around on the floor - you don't know who might tread on you.
Halight: Hope you manage to sleep tonight. When I wake up, - about 2 or 3 times a night, I do Sudukos and bore myself back to sleep. When my kids were small and couldn't sleep I used to offer them 10p if they were still awake in half an hour. Obviously the effort of trying to stay awake used to wear them out because I didn't once have to pay up.

I'd waited years for a local WI and when it started I joined as soon as I could. Well, given that it was at the church up the road (about 5 mins walk) and I have lived here all my life I have never seen the like. A good 90% retired age wise and the rudeness. I spoke to a few people on my first meeting only one of whom replied the others just smiled at me apart from one woman who just looked me up and down and turned her back! I had pushing in in the queue for the cakes AND to ask the guest speaker a question. I was stunned. Plus I didn't recognised a single person there apart from the Treasurer. I went once more, same story. Haven't been back.... Given I was a Guider locally for 20 years and have also worked locally I was appalled.....thought we wer friendlier 'round here.....
Rage in Eden, that is terrible!!! I am appalled but I have to say that I would feel exactly the same way as you do if I had been treated like that too! I have only been in the WI for 18 months but I absolutely LOVE it. Ages in ours range from 40 to over 80 but they are all super-friendly and helpful. The first night that I walked in all on my own and nervous (I'm naturally shy and introverted) the President walked up to me with a HUGE smile on her face and literally welcomed me as if I was a long-lost friend - I knew immediately that I'd made the right choice and I've never looked back. At the end of the day, the WI is supposed to be a SOCIAL club - I think some of them forget that (there are a few of those around here too). I hope you find a MUCH better one when you're ready to join.Lightbulb moment: -£9,954.31 Current Debt: £0

Evening everyone
Been MIA yet again, just always seem to run out of time. Went away for dh birthday at the beginning of March to Brussels (cheap deal on eurostar) but very expensive there. Never mind it was somewhere I wanted to visit. Last weekend had my parents visiting, they travelled back Tuesday. Worked Tuesday and Wednesday all day this week.
os today hm dinner of pasta, chorizo, sweetcorn, onion and garlic with grated cheese over the top. DS2 helped again as the other day he was banned from every electrical device for a few days due to his attitude so he decided he was helping with cooking. I have to say he has been a different child not being on the computer or xbox quite as much. Not much more os to report apart from emptying ds and hanging washing on airer and a little bit of ironing.
Hilstep - glad you are okay.
Hailight - hope you manage a good nights rest and that your wrist eases.
LW - Virtual Hugs(()). Glad you have another visitor on the horizon.
Sorry my mind has gone blank. Hugs and get well wishes to all the poorly people. Take Care if you have snow and ice.0
