Morning!
Hilstep, ouch! Hope you heal quickly!
Nose still running and head feels crammed with cotton wool, been reading since 4am and could quite happily go back to sleep now, but know I wouldn't sleep much tonight if I did, so will soldier on!
Will try and get the hair cut today, wanted it done yesterday but shop was closed. DD has stripped her bed, so that will soon be in the WM, otherwise will do not a lot I fear!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain

[QUOTEHalight glad you slept better. Hopefully you'll continue to progress and make it through the night!][/QUOTE]
To tell you the truth,
I don't really mind only having a few hours sleep. i'm not working at the moment so I can cope with the lack of sleep.
Whats relly getting to me is two things.
1. I Really want my OP. Once I have it I can then get on this my life, What ever that turn's our to be.
2, This dam wrist. Its been driving me mad to be honest.
There that's my moan over !

Morning all, sunny but chilly here.
Hilstep sorry to hear about your fall, it really shakes you doesn't it. My sister has had some falls and she says its not so much the grazes, bruises ad cuts as the fact that it shocks her so much. Take care.
Started feeling really ill yesterday and spent the day doing very little after the errand that had to be run. Pretty certain I have a sinus and an ear infection. A bit better today, so will try to make up some lost ground on the work I have on at the moment. It's home based and not too tight a deadline so not in panic stations yet.
Lunch will be HM soup have no idea what's for dinner. Fridge raid will decide the matter.
nothing much OS going on here at the moment, but there's ebaying to be done once this other work is finished and bread making skills to be tested too. knitting has gone on hold as just too fuddled to concentrate on the pattern.
Have to be well enough tomorrow to accompany son to dentist as he is going to have a sedative so dentist can get a proper look. In the past sedatives have not worked on him, in fact they have the opposite effect..........however dentist is not allowed to go straight to a general anaesthetic without trying the sedative as the lesser option. That makes sense to me and as son is a much calmer chappy now, maybe he won't fight the sedative so much? We can but hope. to be honest I am dreading it, if the sedative acts as it has in the past we will have a 21 year old autistic young man climbing the walls, if it does work we will have the same young man out of his box! Oh well, this too shall pass. Might promise myself fish and chips for dinner tomorrow as a treat to look forward to!
Hugs and best wishes all round.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Morning all,
The beef curry I made y/day was delicious said DH who wanted that for dinner so the steak pie has been portioned up and in the freezer, he wants the spag bol tonight.
I'll make a chicken cobbler with 1 of the chickens and freeze the other for a roast.
Got to pack a bag for us as we're off to Torbay for a couple of days to see Sis in law who was married to my late DB. I booked the hotel months ago so we could take her and her new husband out for a meal, sadly he died in January. Looking forward to seeing her and spoiling her a bit.
DD2 is dropping off DGD2 and DGD3 for a couple of hours, bet that turns into 6.
HILSTEP, Sorry to hear about your fall and hope you recover soon, take care.x
LAMEWOLF, I haven't got and furry family to send hugs so you'll have to make do with mine
NLJ, Hope the dentist visit goes well, got me fingers crossed for you and DS.0 -
Halight Hope you get your Op soon
Hilstep I hate falls as well, an I am prone to them as my joints give way at the most inopportune moment ,usually when I have forgotten to use my stick. Apart from hurting yourself its also blooming undignified to be falling around, folk think you've had a drop too much:)
Last one I had back in the dark of winter I had just put my stick into the back of my car and turned to open the front door to get in and crash I went down like a sack of spuds. There I was lying in the road by my car and its a fairly busy road and a car coming towards me with its headlights on.My first thought was I hope he stops, and my second was I hope they can see me as I had dark clothing on.Well the car slowed saw me lying there and carefully drove around me !!!! I managed to get to my feet but had bashed my knee and elbow and my coat was covered in mud I wasn't best pleased thats for sure. After a few curses to my joints, my age, and anything else I could think of I got into my car and drove home.I may be built like a Weeble, but sadly I don't bounce like one:) Still bruise fade and go, and it just made me make sure I always wore something light on dark nights in future. Its not the fall that hurts its the hard landing.I do hope you recover OK because it can shake you up for several days
I have just had an interesting time in my local Tesco Extra I managed to persuade the manager that just because something had been priced wrong its not my problem but his, and stood firm and got a kilo of Lurpak spreadable butter for £2.00 I feel quite chuffed especially as it's all I needed to buy today so I came away with a bargain and the poor young chap looked totally bemused after I explained (quite politely for me:))that 'no I wasn't going to take a 'raincheck' or anything else, but my 2 X 500gms of butter for two pounds please'.as a few folk were stopping to see what the fuss was about he ushered me away agreeing at once to honour the price on the edge of shelf
Tesco's 0 Jackie1:):)Victory for the shopper for a change.By the way the huge shop was very sparcely populated with customers
Onwards and upwards chums Have a good day what ever you are doing

Good morning everyone,
hilstep sorry to hear about you fall, that sort of thing really shakes you up
Yesterday evening, the chap came round to give us a quote for the shrubs we want cutting back. It was a very reasonable figure and less than the amount we have previously been charged when other people have done this work, so we accepted the quote. All being well, the work should be done some time next week.
Today I'm going to bake a few cakes. It's my birthday on Friday, and in time honoured tradition, the birthday person takes food into work for everyone to eat.
There's 60 people who work in my section, so I'm not making cakes for all of them - I'll top it up with some shop bought cakes, which I will go out for later.
Dinner tonight will be sausage, egg and chips !Early retired - 18th December 2014

Morning all,
Hilstep sorry to hear of your fall. I hope you feel better today.
Halight, i hope you get a date for your op soon. As you said, you can get on with your life then. Good to hear the twins are back at school.
All is well with me. Well, i'm debating whether or not to visit my dentist. I think one of my back teeth has broke off. Not sure if its worth paying for him to take a look though. I just dont want further trouble down the line if you know what i mean and i dont want the expense of having it crowned as i cant afford it.
Talk about money, youngest wants his hair cut. I told him to tell Dad not me. Dad suggested the clippers.... looks like another expense for me as you dont see rockers with skinned off hair.
The girls have found a sunny spot in youngests' bedroom. Millster is panting she is so hot but she doesnt move.
Weather is bright and sunny, no wind, no snow, just glorious sunshine! Long may it continue.
Jobs all done, the usual routine anyway.
Tea.... something with minced beef. I'll have to see what ive got in the cupboards as i dont want cottage pie again.
Right, i'd best do something with my hair. Its had a growth spurt and its neither long nor short and the layers are sticking up all over the place. If i cut them off i'll be back to short hair again which i dont want. Bahh! i'll get there some day!
Have a good day all, a sunny one at least. If you aint got any sun you can have a bit of mine as its hurting my eyes to look out of the window. Not that i am moaning though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for the sympathy:rotfl:
It did shake me up, cuppa made me feel better though. I get fed up with it TBH, but that's one of the b*** for having MS:o
Managed to get over the road this morning on my scooter. Blooming cold out there tho:eek:
Done dinner now, so waiting to see DD. Got lamb cutlets coming from Westin Gourmet today. 18 cutlets for £19 thought that was a good deal, haven't had lamb for ages it's too expensive.
OH sent me the most beautiful bouquet yesterday. He is in Birmingham on a conference, and thought that I would be getting over my op, but they were still a lovely surprise.:T
Anyway, thanks again everyone.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
