    Hi all

Thanx for all the virtual hugs; not been doing too well, but I've now finished the long and unpleasant questionnaire I have to take to the Pain Clinic tomorrow, (made me cry doing it, because my way of coping is to curse a lot and shove the pain to the back of my mind as far as is possible - questionnaire makes you focus on it, much the same way DWP forms do).

Don't think the visit will be much help, but was told by the rheumy that was all she could offer was to ask GP to refer me to Pain Clinic.:( That's the same rheumy who when asked why I'm in so much pain just shrugged and said "I dunno" and told me to "just go away and live with it"

All I'm asking is for this recalcitrant piece of rubbish I'm lumbered with by way of a body to do what I want, when I want, in a timely fashion, without making me scream, swear or cry with pain. Oh, and a decent night's sleep would be nice, too.:D
Mr LW has tomorrow off on leave to take me.:A

Hilly we have a large roll of bubble-wrap in the loft - I'm gonna get Mr LW to fetch it down, and wrap you in it!!:D You're not doing my silly trick of trying to wander about the house without your sticks, are you? That's been my downfall (pardon the pun) on several occasions.

Some news - Mary the JR Cross is coming to stay for a month!! She's the incontinent little oldie I've had twice before - I'm saving Mr LW's daily newspaper!:D Actually, the local agent will be having her overnight on 30th March as we have tickets for Madam Butterfly which will be too long to leave her, so the agent said she'd take her for that night - it'll give me a break partway through the stay too, as Mary is quite hard work (I love her to bits though). She'll be arriving on March 23rd.

Anyways - healing vibes, GWS wishes and hot toddies as required - help yourselves.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hell everybody and hugs to all in need!

LW Well hang in there and have some of those healing vibes right back at ya!
    Halight Yay!
Hilstep Oh dear, not called Miranda Hart are you?
Save a holic When I have a bit more money I might rejoin a WI but not the local one, the one in town I think which seems younger. I'd waited years for a local WI and when it started I joined as soon as I could. Well, given that it was at the church up the road (about 5 mins walk) and I have lived here all my life I have never seen the like. A good 90% retired age wise and the rudeness. I spoke to a few people on my first meeting only one of whom replied the others just smiled at me apart from one woman who just looked me up and down and turned her back! I had pushing in in the queue for the cakes AND to ask the guest speaker a question. I was stunned. Plus I didn't recognised a single person there apart from the Treasurer. I went once more, same story. Haven't been back.... Given I was a Guider locally for 20 years and have also worked locally I was appalled.....thought we wer friendlier 'round here.....

Speaking of appalled..... the ongoing saga of the meds continues. Got a letter from the hospital today - pushing my appointment back SIX weeks. So I will have waited 9.5 months for a 6 months follow up. All of this knocks on the effect of the "who sees to the dose increase" question. So GP apt made for next week and I've already spoken to the local private hospital where I could see a consultant in 10 days at a cost of £250...... So it looks like we are going to have to fork that out as we can't wait until May as we were waiting for this apt before we saw the private IVF docs. Who are, shall we say, even less impressed with this carry on than they were before.....:rotfl: Anyway, I was so annoyed I have cleaned out the little fridge and shown no mercy so I now have a load of jam jars to offer to my neighbour or make jam this weekend LOL Since I did my work this morning there has been nothing else which is a shame as we obviously now need the money  So I might have a bash at making a potato and cheese pie/bake thing tonight. I seem to remember seeing a recipe for one so the cheap and cheerful stodge is coming out......Might dip the toe in ebay again as welll. Apart from that a bit parky here although not as bad as it was, cloudy with sunny breaks..... Have a nice day y'all....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Have you tried butter pies? Basically just potato & onion pie in shortcrust pastry, but scrummy & cheap! The recipe is about 2/3 of the way down this page. Oh and Nigel Haworth's Lancashire hot pot is absolutely to die for!

    Evening all
Rage, I've been waiting 18 months for my 3 monthly follow up appointment, but mine is for my eyes.
Hugs to Molly, Hilly, Halight & LW. LW I was hoping earlier that you'd get a dog sit soon, to cheer you up.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Lamewolf hate using my stick indoors, but a friend who is training to be an OT has told me to get a trolley. Rang my OT this morning, said she will get me one, as if I had been carrying a cup of tea I would have been scalded. :(
Using my scooter outside always now. Hate falling on pavements.
My DD agrees with you about the bubble wrap! Another friend reckons that I should be wearing a skateboarders' outfit!
    Thanks for the concern!

    Evening everybody,

Oh dear it sounds like a few of you need healing thoughts so loads coming your way now.

Just finished tea, cooked some salmon,DH had his with veg and wedges,DS1 & I had it flaked into pasta,DS2 is at the gym so he'll eat after. He's sleeping here tonight as DF is on a works do.DGD came for tea yesterday and ended up being sick just before she went back to her mums- just after she'd had a bath and changed into her jammies ,didnt do alot for what I was wearing either:rotfl: poor thing. She was in a really good mood when she came too,and making us laugh.Seems she's ok today thankfully.

Got my friends birthday card and part of her pressie made last night.I mixed a blend of essential oils for her,for relaxation(its ok I'm qualified :D) and an instruction card, wrapped it in cello with pink twine, looks good and I think she'll like it as she gets stressed out with work.I need to make a few cards for my stock,I've used up quite a few lately & it's really handy not having to dash to the shops when I remember at the last minute.

Right need to clear the kitchen of pots,so bye for now,you all take care x
