As I said, having another baby is not up for discussion. They are financially stable thank you. Our debt is under control and being paid off. My husband has a much better job than he did when we got in to debt and we are managing fine.
I do not mean to sound harsh but you are being extremely naive OP.
You entered into the DMP for a reason, normally due to not being able to meet debt repayments whilst giving yourself enough to live on.
If this is now not the case then surely you would need to let the DMP know about this increase in income in order to pay your creditors back what you owe more quickly?DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
I thought with a DMP that you had to keep them informed then of any financial changes so that they could look at if payments were correct?0

If my children are fed, clothed and loved I don't really see what difference having another makes. We currently have a monthly excess income of around £400 and this is with me being a SAHM. If our DMP is active and we are making payments why should this prevent me having another child? We don't rely on benefits and we have not had access to any credit for years now.0

I would have thought your prority would be clearly the debt first and as quick as possible. Just my opinion.
How many years in total will in take to clear your debts? throw a baby and extension into the mix then add how many years then?Trainee Building Surveyor

I don't know why you post on hereof you are financially stable!! Get real!
Harsh but true - these posts really do annoy me , especially when asking for advice and then not willing to take the cold honest truth.
I'm even more annoyed that I've wasted time reading this thread whe. The poster obviously doesn't want to listen to 10 people saying exactly the same thing. YOU NEED TO PAY YOUR DEBT OFF FIRST BEFORE THINKING ABOUT EXTENSIONS AND BABIES!Started again 25th December 2017
Current tracking - £7,955.84/ £18,282.25 to pay off. (31.12.19)0 -
It will definately take a long time to pay back the debt but that is kind of my point. As long as we pay it back and we don't ever want any more credit does the term matter? The extension would not get us in to further debt as my husband would do most of the work. It would basically mean our DMP takes longer tho x0

OP you are disagreeing with the other poster because thats the reality and its not what you came on hear. Harsh but its the truth, be prepared to hear it.
Positive to hear you are clearing your debts, all well and good but i dont know what kind of reaction you were really expecting. we've stated what we would do and that does not agree with you.Trainee Building Surveyor

so did i...i would have thought your prority would be clearly the debt first and as quick as possible. Just my opinion.

exactly, completely unrealistic.if my children are fed, clothed and loved i don't really see what difference having another makes. i am not saying you are a bad mother nor that you don't love your children. What i am saying however, is that if you have an excess income of £400 pm you need to pay back what you owe to your creditors in a timely manner. You were quick enough to want their money quickly when you wanted to spend it but when it comes to you paying it back you want to drag it on for years and years!
I am of the opinion, if you borrowed it, you owe it, if you can afford to repay it then that is what you do!!DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -

No I totally take your advice on board about the extension and I'm sure clearing the debt is the right thing to do. However, as long as we are paying it and managing on my husbands wage I just disagree about a baby that's all.0
