  • Don't worry - I have PCOS. And I'm now 22 weeks pregnant! PCOS doesn't stop you having children, at worst it means you may need a little help. Stay healthy and it will probably never ever affect you!

As far as your other problems go, do all your relationships end because you dont trust the other people? And if you're being threatened with redundancy, then look for a new job now. Don't wait for the ship to sink, be the first one into the life boat - every man (woman) for themselves! I realise its not that simple, but stop dwelling on what went wrong, and plan for how to do it right.

My relationships end for various reasons; most recently through being cheated on so I guess that just adds to my trust issues.

We have a few months before we know what it happening with jobs, so I am trying to time my job applications for when we know what is what. If at all possible I don't want to leave this job as it is ideal for me, so if I were to find something else and jump ship, and then find out jobs were actually saved I would be devastated.

I am trying to do as much extra at work as I can to boost my CV ready for the upheaval.
  • Heya sweet, just wanted to say i KNOw how scary that diagnoses can be however there is loads of information out there that isnt scary. soulcysters has a great world wide forum as well.

Sadly I am on the other end of the scale, I can not have children (to those who said it doesnt stop you - it can) Not trying to scare monger at all - my hormone levels are shot most tend to not be as bad as mine. I had fertility treatment and ovarian drilling twice and sadly for me it didnt work ( I am 28 )

However I do have friends who have fallen preg with relative ease. I have campainged for more attention on PCOS and have a friend who I help write a booklet/leaflet for and am always happy to talk if you have any question - will PM you my email x

Thanks for all the support everyone. Really struggling tonight, just feel so alone. Feel like going to stay with someone just to have some company, but there isn't anyone which makes me feel worse!

My wife has pcos and she got pregnant in a month of us trying...Do not despair..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • Don't be daft. You might not believe it, but there are always people who genuinely care. Get in touch with an old friend, they will be happy to hear from you.

Spent the day with a friend which cheered me up no end.

Found some courses to go on that if I am really careful I should be able to afford to go on, and would also boost my CV a bit more in preparation for the job shuffle at work.

Feeling a bit more positive now.

    Thanks so much everyone :)

Just a quick question... been reading up on PCOS and it says about irregular periods, but usually that they stop, not that you end up permanently on one! Is this right?

Yes that's right. They affect people differently, sometimes in the time between periods, sometimes in the length they last. But I've never heard of permanently being on one.

But it can generally affect your hormones in strange ways. I'm quite prone to making fairly irrational decisions then having to beg forgiveness afterwards!

You can have a 'normal ' cycle, an irregular one, one that is regular but not 'normal' but usually further apart. All sorts of things. I have not heard of permanently menstruating, but just do not know. The only thing I can say is that I did have one episode where I started bleeding again just a few days after last period, this was kicked back into rhythm with the pill on a short term basis and never happened again. I have never connected that with pcos because it was before most of my other symptoms and a long time before I was diagnosed.

I have 2 friends with PCOS and one conceived within a couple of months and the other the only time they risked 'it' without contraception!
