Depends on the deal. When my BT contract moved into the rolling phase last year I looked at both Plusnet and O2. They couldn't do better than the deal I had with BT at the time so I renewed it at the same prices as previously. You obviously didn't negotiate a good deal with BT in the first place.how anyone uses BT for broadband and phone anymore is beyond me.
i have saved well over £150 by going to plusnet!

I'll agree with that. Some of their specials can't leave much at all in the way of a margin over the wholesale price though. The last company doing that was O2 and they finally threw in the towel. I had BB from O2 that cost £18 for a year after cashback which simply could not have been profitable. They offered a really good retention deal too which I can't remember in detail. BT scuppered that one though with a duff line and I had to switch to cable.Because Plusnet is presumably profitable, and BT perceive it as a different market sector that takes more business from other ISP's than from BT.0 -
The difference is that PN have to pay BT's wholesale charges for network access. 02 do not. But I still suspect that what Sky are paying for is the 02 customer base, and not a profitable broadband business.
O2 customers transferring to Sky can expect a to get a hard sell on the TV side of their business. No free lunch, and no free laptop
