Do an exchange search on www.samknows.com for your other LLU options, if any.
Or ring O2 retentions and get your next 12m broadband free.
Why BT? From one of the best providers to one of the worst.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

If you read some of the other threads in this section on the very same subject, you'll see people have been successful in getting 12 months free broadband and £100 mobile credit.

I'm thinking the posters point was they'd saved £150, not got one over on BT by leaving.

It almost certainly was. Mine was that a subsidary of BT are undercutting BT. How? Why?

Because Plusnet is presumably profitable, and BT perceive it as a different market sector that takes more business from other ISP's than from BT.
People who use BT are a bit like long term British Gas customers-not exactly serial switchers or economisers.
If logic were the main factor, every BT customer would switch to PN to get the same network at a cheaper price (and better CS), but of course that won't happen.

They no longer give the £100 mobile credit - it's now £200!! (On top of free bb for 12 months)
