The way NRAM are forcing people to accept redress is wrong and I'm really not sure the way they are redressing accounts is correct.
Add to that making the paper work they are sending out very hard to understand(either by design or by sheer incompetency) and you get a lot of unhappy customers. Let us not forget we are their customers we pay our mortgage payments to them. we as tax payers own NRAM. They are not doing us a favor. We as customers should be treated with respect and consideration. I don't see a lot of that coming from NRAM at the moment. I get the feeling that because we are with the so called 'toxic' side of Northern Rock and because NRAM is now run by the Government. NRAM don't feel they need to offer the same level of respect, consideration and customer service as you would expect from any other mortgage lender. This of course is wrong, wrong, wrong.

    FOS update -

Senior adjudicator called to let me know things were moving fast as there has been so many complaints, some will be grouped together as the outcome will be the same, all complaints with nram will be looked at in their own merit then passed to a team particular to the complaints. He wanted to give me his number as no time for letters etc.
As far as i am aware mine is being looked at individually and if moved to a 'group' he will be in touch!
I'm not too sure if things moving as fast is a good or bad thing!
As soon as I have more info I'll be back!!
  • Hi I have only come across these forums today. I have been wondering how to go about complaining to NRAM to try and get money from them, rather than taking it off the balance of our loan. Any ideas from anyone who has already been through the process would be greatly appreciated.

Send an email of complaint to them it's recorded and instant. customerrelations@n-ram.co.uk

Include your details and account numbers.

It's only needs to be brief, tell them you do not wish the refund to be applied to your loan and to be paid directly. Tell them you have not been consulted in this and they cannot dictate how this happens.
nram will not uphold your complaint, then pass straight to fos.
    Good luck
  • Thank you very much. I am going to do this today. i will report back.
