How's everyone doing? I'm still addicted, reading and rating more than reviewing for now.

I see some reviewers seem to use 20 or more perfumes, multiple face masks and hand creams, and then another dozen shampoos! Apparently!

It's open to abuse because it's not linked to purchases like some review sites are. And with something like shampoo it would be easy to fake because shampoos aren't really vastly different.

Done 5 reviews so far and over 90 ratings.

I've actually found writing the reviews relatively easy so far. I've found it much easier to write something more technical - stuff that does different things kinda reviews, it's pretty easy to go over 150 words. Opposed to writing about something like shampoo where I think I would end up having to stretch it out with pointless details about the type of plastic the bottle is made of.

Sometimes I find the rating more difficult. It's great that someone has a passion for something but some reviews are very, very long.

I think if you think a review is so long that no genuine consumer is going to get to the end of it, or in the case of a book review it is an essay in itself that makes you feel no need to read the book it's fine to rate accordingly, I do.

But it seems that the longer reviews are more likely to get crowns. So although a longer review might not be as good for someone who is looking to purchase something it's better for those writing the reviews.
  • Hello everyone,

Found this thread after Dooyoo was mentioned on the Make £10 a day Challenge Thread :)

Unfortunately, I realised I'd lost my login details (signed up years ago) and couldn't even remember what email I used, so I've had to rejoin. :o

Just wanted to say thanks for all the really useful info on this thread, it's been really helpful and encouraged me in rejoining.:T

Not done a great deal so far except for rating a couple of reviews. I'm reading through the information pages on Dooyoo and getting back to grips with the workings of it before I start doing any reviews myself (not too mention that I've been stacked with other work recently).

I'm under NightElf over there - Hope to "see" you all at some point and once I do get going .... any tips & advice will be very very gratefully received! :) Hopefully it will work better for me than either SB or Textbroker seem to have :rotfl:

Thanks again for all the insights

    Angel xx

  • Ok so I have done a couple of reviews now so got the hang of that. Whether they are any good is a matter of opinion :rotfl: but its all a learning curve so any constructive criticism will be taken on board.

I have a question though..... say there's an album or restaurant I'd like to review but its not on dooyoos list .........is this the situation where I can put a request in for it to be added?

If so how do I go about that?

a few of us have noticed that rates have dropped. does it go in cycles on dy? a lot of people do not seem to be rating back (even long standing people) and i know some do it weekly but it still does not explain why the sudden drop? any ideas?
