Dont know if it helps, but we moved into our new build three years ago and our supplier is also Servern Trent. I monthly dd amount was £30 for the first 12 months (theres only two of us) on the 12 month (the anniversary) I had my new bill which showed us in credit so they reduced it automatically and it is now £19.

We just paid the first £30 as we didn't know how much it would be and it sorted itself out - we were happy about it. tell you what though. Check to make sure that the meter number under your sink is the same meter number they put on your bill from when they scan it on the outside of the building as ours didn't match.

ST Water's waiting times on the phone are ridiculous, but once you get through, the staff are (mostly) helpful and will put your DD down to a more sensible level.

They wanted £50 pcm from me but I had taken regular readings and knew my average monthly consumption and agreed £19 pcm, which covers our bills on metered water.

I pay less on a meter for a five bed house to Severn Trent (one adult three kids one part time bf) than I did on RV to Yorkshire Water (tiny house in run down area).

£19 a month is not enough to cover the bills of a family of 5. Either between 5 of you you are using the same amount of water as 2 average people or you are running yourself into arrears.

They may have agreed to set it at £19 a month if you requested that is what you wanted to pay, but it doesnt sound anywhere near enough to me.

i would check your not getting into arrears when you get your half yearly bill or ring severn trent and just check that it is gonna cover your water if you dont want to get into arrears and pay more than the £50 a month previously quoted
