O/S Daily Monday 11th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Good morning everyone
Brrrrrr it's freezing this morning!
A real flying visit as I am on my way to work but I already have a shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker with some potatoes and onions for tonight's dinner, all pre-prepared last night.
Will try and report back later but already have a serious case of CBA syndrome today so not sure how much OS will be going on.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Very Cold here and windy here, But No snow,
Not a great nights sleep, But not too bad. I woke Up at 3:15am. And came down stairs, But Insted of just nodding on off In my chair I feel deep asleep and had Just over two hrs,
So not too bad there.
I'm Not sure If the Girls are going to be well enough to go to school today.
they woke up only twice, In the first part of the night. I slept though this by the way, My wife says I was dead to the world.
We will wait and see what they are like when they wake up this morning. They did not go to the MIL's yesterday after dancing. They both came. Home. Both have started coughing bad. And yesterday afternoon both were sick a few times, Just the flem coming up, So we shall see.

Good Morning everyone I had a smashing Mothers day with my two lovely daughters and got thoroughly spoiled by them.Lots of nice thing of the "oh just what I wanted " variety.Dinner last night at youngest Dds was delicious and my son-in-law cooked in, so even nicer as then DD could have a rest and put her feet up.The apple crumble I took round vanished into the pits my DGS call their tummies and I also took round a box of tray bakes and a victoria sponge cake which was given a good demolishing
:) I think I'll have to bake some more this afternoon.Very very cold at the moment and frost everywhere,I did put the cover on the windscreen last night at least so no scraping this morning thank goodness.Book club this morning after the school run then home to do some more baking I may make a nice fruit cake as I haven't done one of those for ages and perhaps a coconut and cherry cake for my son-in-law as its his favourite. If I'm baking I do like to fill the oven up to the brim with stuff and get full use of its capacity.
NSD for me though as I have more than enough in store.Tonights dinner is chicken curry from the freezer and rice, with some left over apples with custard for pud
Right time for a quick shower and some breakfast Have a good day everyone
Take care and keep wrapped up warm

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Clear blue sky, sun is shining but we have snow and it's bitterly cold here this morning.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Had a great weekend, excellent time away - dinner on Sat night was great, good food, company and dancing. The site was a bit of a mess in the gateway after all the rain Friday night and all day Sat - we waited until several others had gone then we were able to drive over to where it wasn't as muddy and get nearly all the way to the gateway not in the mud then pull out from there. Problem with gas supply will be sorted within the next few weeks - gas engineer says he will take the part off and send back to the manufacturer as it's less than a year old - glad he asked me to find out when it was that we had the same problem last year and he fitted the new part. We're going to have a different set up put in so we shouldn't have this problem anymore. Once we'd got the caravan put back in the storage yesterday we visited the mums to take the mothers day gifts and collect the children. I then cooked us a chicken for an ealry dinner, we had new potatoes, salad and pasta salad, coleslaw etc with it.
Dinner tonight is fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg as DS1 has his college interview tonight so will be in and out taking/collecting him.
Tomorrow night we have hairdresser coming to cut menfolks' hair and re-blond me, needs doing desperately.
Stay safe for those that are getting/may get snow!
Keep safe and well x

Everyone here is sick. Its like an old style sanatorium, with me as the lone healthy person. OH had sinus surgery last Monday and now has a painful eye. He's off to the GP in case it's an infection. The boys just have coughs and colds.
So that's my day planned. Tonight I should've been going to my WI group. Our theme is upcycling today so very OS. I'll probably not go now:(. I haven't been to the last two meetings because of snow, I don't want to miss a third. I travel to a group in the next town because the ones near me are quite old fashioned.
I did ebay some things yesterday and already have bids so I might schedule some today if I've got to stay indoors and play nurse.
Have fun today everyone.0 -
