We have an Earlex. I think we got it from Homebase. We got it because it was the cheapest and we didn't know how well it would work. I have seen other makes but I wouldn't think there was much difference in performance. Steam is steam!

I've just had a look at George online and quite like the look of him ;) ... have used Henry many times before too and very impressed with his performance :D

Anyone else got an opinion on George please :)

    Which One Is Better

    Vax Or Bissel

    Any Recommodation Or Advise
  • Have you thought of trying a steam cleaner? We found it worked better for us than our old shampooer (Hoover).

I bought an upright vax about 8 years ago and it was so complicated and difficult to use as well as extremely heavy to use as a 'normal' hoover, I ended up throwing it away as I hated it so much.

They may have improved and the cylinder versions might be better - but I would never buy a vax again.

1 extra for bissel. although when mine broke and had servicing, I hired a rug doctor from homebase (you should have seen the adverts) for £15 for 24hrs and a couple of quid for the shampoo, it was fantastic and got round the house so fast.

  • I use a product from a hoover shop called 'release' it comes in a large plastic container with a handle on, its quite economical I use it with my bissell pro-heat carpet shampooer, and get great results every time, and I have cats in the house too, it can also help with keeping fleas eggs away. Its got a nice fragrance, too.
