Vodafone unlock

Hello, not sure if this is a daft question. But a friend of mine has just bought a Samsung E250, pay as you go, from The Link, it's locked to Vodafone but she is going to buy a little device off ebay to unlock it. Someone has told me Voda are hard to unlock is this true or will it be ok?

Buy an unlocking clip off mse member james-73, they are cheaper than ebay then re-sell the clip on ebay to get the money back you paid, james-73 works for mobyrepairs.com
  • Cheers Jay, I'll check him out. Can you just confirm for me that Vodafone are easy to unlock though?

the problem is that with some e250 unlock clips you cannot unlock a e250v < notice the v (these are vodafone branded e250's) ask the person you purchase it from on ebay etc. e250v's have different security.

there are e250 unlock clips and e250/e250v unlock clips.

unlock by code is the better option.

Are you saying an E250 can be unlocked with a code? The one I'm trying to unlock is on Tesco (O2) btw. G

    Hi Northern_munky

Working for Vodafone, I can tell you it will be possible for us to unlock your handset by code.

If the handset is under 12mths old, there will be a charge of £20, which will be taken from your calling credit.

If you want to request the unlocking code, if you go to the Contact Us section on the Vodafone website, you will have the option to send us an email. If you include FIT135 in the body of the text, it will be picked up by a team who can help.

You will also need to include the make, model, and IMEI number of the handset you want unlocking

Well seven phone calls later, I finally managed to speak to someone who actually knew what I was talking about when I asked for the K800 to be unlocked as I was at the end of my contract. Twice they hung up on me for no reason. I think this call centre must be in Outer Mongolia. Please remind me never to get into a contract with Vodafone again.
