Hi Lee,
My partner has sent an email with the subject "WRT135 - MSE" .
Her ref is [#11223507]
She mentioned that the online form was not working, so I think she sent the email directly.
Thanks0 -

I have a friend who has asked me for some advice in relation to the below...
He signed up for a contract with vodafone a few months ago, when the phones were recieved he did as he was told and set them up correctly, but neither of the phones were connected properly. one of them was partially connected but with no internet at all, the other was not activated for internet, calls or texts. 2 months down the line he has now recieved a letter from vodafone stating that he owes them £131.77 and a potential termination fee of £962.31. The termination fee comes into effect if he does not pay the £131. He obviously doesnt want to pay this as the service has not been set up correctly so therefore he believes have breached their contract anyway by not supplying the correct service as stipulated in the agreement. He also believes that vodafone will at some point pass the debt onto an outside agency if this is so, then vodafone can only send a bill to the debt agency for the services used not the bill for 18 month contract as you only pay for what you use?
Can someone please shed some light on this for me so that i can pass it on to him. He is currently off work sick and can barely afford his normal bills the poor guy is stressed as it is and this letter from vodafone really hasnt helped matters.Doing the investigation work - you don't have time to do.0 -
No they are not in breach as they need to be advised there is an issue and given an opportunity to resolve it.
As there is a risk a credit file may be trashed, I'd pay up but insist he matters raised are dealt with urgently v0 -

So, was your friend waiting that Vodafone come to him and sort everything out?
No he has contacted them several times about the phone not working properly, they advised they would send configuration messages to resolve this issue. This never happened. After about 3 phone calls, he told them to call him back when new how to resolve the issue. The only thing is he hasnt kept a record of his calls (he should have though).Doing the investigation work - you don't have time to do.0 -
The only thing i do know is that, vodafone cannot send the £900 bill to a debt agency, as they are only allow to send a bill / debt for what is owed to date ie the period that has passed no more than that.Doing the investigation work - you don't have time to do.0

Well, the 'thing you know' is wrong.
If they close the account, ALL the forward charges fall due and payable. What made you think otherwise? Not only will they do this, and wreck the credit file, but the debt will be sold on to a third party and they will move on, washing their hands of the affair.
The time to get it sorted is before it becomes too late to do so and the damage is irreversible.0 -
Contact the vodafone rep on this forum to see if he can do anything to sort this out.
In future avoid expensive contract phones - they are not worth the stress, hassle and financial risk.0
