Just got the same email - excellent work Dorling Kindersley!!!:T

Best way to get some positive PR out of a voucher code mess up. I just hope other companies take note.

    Just got this email:

Thank you for your recent order with DK and for showing an interest in our books. The discount code that you used when placing your order was originally set up as a dedicated, one-off promotion with Best Western, where a small number of children were awarded a £10 voucher for entering their Junior Hotel Inspectors Competition. The code that was issued to fulfil this competition was shared online in error which therefore resulted in others being able to redeem the voucher on our website. Despite this voucher being exclusive to the winners, we understand that the order you placed using the code was in good faith. As a company, DK stands by its integrity and customer service and therefore we would like to honour the orders made as a gesture of goodwill.

Very good of them and I feel a bit bad about taking advantage of it now!

Me too, not very money saving I know but I feel like I should order something at regular price!

Dont feel too bad for them, they are part of Pearson group who turn over nearly £6 billion quid with nearly a billion in profit (according to wikipedia). Just a great way of getting loads of good press, as i am sure this will hit the nationals.

Yep, I'm feeling the guilt too! Luckily though the book I ordered was over £10, so at least I paid a bit towards it, and I did spend a while looking at their site, as well signing up to their newsletter, and will definitely order from them again in the future! I think its the people who ordered £200 worth of free books and then boasted about it on facebook who really took advantage!

Very decent indeed of them to honour the orders, but I wouldn't go OTT in terms of self-reproach. The kids will have had their winnings, and DK will be delighted by the publicity/additions to their mailing list.
