I start a new job next week, and money is really really tight (I have been on benefits for 7 months).
I only have about £5 to buy a pair of black trousers, preferably online as I live in a rural town.
Any idea where i can get a pair for that price?

Charity shop or eBay? To be honest I think you will struggle to find a decent pair for that money.
I got a nice pair from Asda but I think they were £12.0 -
Thanks Geri.
There is only 1 charity shop in our town, and I have been keeping an eye out in there every few days but nothing has come up yet. I'll keep looking though.0 -
I often get good quality black work trousers (female) in BHS. I know they have an online shop and they have various styles. They often have sales, but I think these will be nearer the £10 budget.....but perhaps you could save towards the £10 as they will last much longer than saying buying trousers in Primark in my personal experience. BUT Primark would be another option for you as they do have clothes to suit a wide range of budgets.0

Thanks Caddie,
I will have a look online at BHS and see the prices.
I dont have a primark anywhere near me, and need to save the petrol to get to work.0 -
Can you stretch to another £1? Both Asda (George) and Tesco have basic formal trousers online for £6 (free delivery to store). And before anybody says that they're horrible, they've done me fine for the last two years!
Or try eBay?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Asda / Tesco £10
Markets
Charity shops like others have suggested
Do you know anybody that has a catalogue? (you could set up an account yourself, with the first order discount as long as you can afford to pay it off sharply)0 -
Just had a look on BHS website and the cheapest i could find was £9.
I think I may have to rethink my budget and manage to squeeze another £5 out for a pair of trousers.
Just hoping that my tax credits application is processed quickly.0 -

I have a tesco on the route to my new job, so could manage to get there too
As long as they last (at the worst) until i get paid and/or tax credits come through, it doesnt matter what quality they are, although it's reassuring to hear they are good0 -
Freecycle/Freegle perhaps - people can post WANTED's - wel can in my area anyway. Matalan? Primark?0

I hadn't thought about freecycle, thanks jolly
I dont have a primark or matalan near me.0
