O/S Daily Sunday 10th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Morning all:j:j
Dry and not too cold here,
Well Iv been back on the night shift again.
1:30ish was when I got up. I have nodded on and off In my chair since.
twin one has a bad cough, She woke up at about 4:00am Coughing and has not really been asleep since. She Is now In bed with my wife. My wife also says that she has a bad throat,
I have coughed a Bit In the night, But I had just put that down to a dry throat and mouth. But with twin one and now my wife, I'm starting to think that within the next 24hrs I shall also be coming down with the Cold that's going around.
We had been told about a nasty one going around the school. There has been quite a few kids off with it the last two weeks.
It's Just what I need right now!
I Just hope that my Dad won't get it. He has OCPD and is quite ill with his chest most of the time, But he still can get about. But the smallest cold really knocks him off his feet, He has been quite ill over this winter. A lot worse than the last few winters. We know the OCPD is a one that gets worse as time goes on. And this years that has been quite notable,
We Had a lovey meal out last night,:j:j
Plans for today are the wife and kids are off to church. Then the Girls have a dance class for there show that they are doing , We don't really understand why they are having it today being mothering Sunday and all that, Some other Mums have complained about it.
After there Danceing they are off to the MIL's who will take them over the see her Mum and Dad. So In one weekend the Girls would have Seen My Mum and Dad, My wife's Mum and Dad, My wife's Dad's Mum. And My wife Mum's , ,Mum's and Dads,
Far to many grand parents to keep track off:D
Dinner today for my wife and i will be Roast Turkey Thigh Cooked In a Honey, lemon, mustard and Garlic.
With Roast Puds and Veg.
Well I hope that you all have a nice day. Being with your Mum's or your Kids.
Or thinking of happier time's that you spent many years ago.
Enjoy:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Good morning halight and to all who cross/follow,
Happy Mothers day to all the Mums :j:j. I hope you all have a lovely day.
We have had snow overnight. Still snowing now. I think we are due for quite a bit over the course of today and tomorrow.
No plans today. Son and his gf are coming for dinner today. That will be nice. They haven't been for dinner since boxing day. They tend to do their own thing on a Sunday, although they always come for a quick visit every week.
halight, my Dad also has COPD. He has had it for quite a few years now but this year has been the worst for him. I have lost count of how many antibiotics and steroids he has had over the last few months.
Dinner is roast chicken with stuffing, chipolatas, roast potatoes and plenty of veg. Will get some baking done as the tins are empty.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

My Dad Is now on Antibotis and steroids all the time.
He has to send a spit test off every week. Well His nurse dose. If it shows up that there Is an infection there. They phone him up and he ups the Antibotis ,
I'm not sure how many steroids he take's as the amount goes up and down depending on how his breathing is.
But He take's Two antibotis every day.
He also has to keep another stronger Anit at home with him all the time. the idea of this that if the normal one dose not work he has the other on hand to take.
It seem to work quite well., But he has gone form not having to use the the anti to now having to use it quite often.
He has a nurse that comes In once a week. Shes quite good. And sorts everything out for him.
He's not as bad as some. He dose not need oxygen at home or anything like that. (He did need oxygen at home a few years ago but only for a couple of weeks)
I know the Oxygen at home will come at some point, Its been 6 years now since he was first ill,
He will be 68 In may this year.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Good morning everyone
Happy Mother's Day to all mums on our thread :happylove
I have been up for a while but DH is still fast asleep so am trying to be quiet again. I hate wanting to get on with jobs and not being able to!
It's raining and very cold again. I think it's expected to brighten up later but it doesn't look like it at the moment. Anyway no washing will be getting dried outside today.
Loads of left overs from last night's tapas for tonight so nothing to cook for today but will do some batch cooking for the week with some chicken and some mince based meals. I want to make a carrot cake and have never done one before, so will report back on success or disaster.
Did a few ebay listings yesterday and will do a few more now until I can start making some noise.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. There seems to be a lot of nasty bugs going around at the moment, so keep warm, safe and well. Morning all
Halight you're a flirt, first you are threatening to take your clothes off, now you want to move in with Hilstep, lol.
My son sent me flowers for Mothers day via Moonpig as he is on holiday in France. They arrived on Friday at work, so many people who saw them admired them, many of the men rushed off in a panic when they realised they had forgotten Mothers day.
Yesterday we bought 3 Bristlenosed catfish for our tank as our last one died after 12 years, hubby is convinced they have escaped as we can't find them now, lol, no doubt when they get bigger they will turn up.
My Mothers day celebrations have been rather spread out, DD1 took me out for a meal on Wednesday, DS1's flowers arrived on Friday, DD2 loves a bargain same as me so my gift will arrive around 18th March (when it is on offer) DS2 is coming over today with his card.
Roast lamb for dinner today with roast potatoes, stuffing, cauli cheese, carrots, peas & gravy.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
