her course has been very hard. she left school at 16 with no qualifications, has 2 children (one with special needs) and bills to pay. she struggled with the academic demands of the access year, but passed with flying colours, and has not given up once on her course. i have never been so proud of anyone, ever.
you have no worries at all in comparison, and you're pi55ing your opportunities up the wall.
If I have even any opportunities at all, how exactly can I avoid Pi55ing them up?:beer:0 -

Use the search function and pick any other thread that you've started or posted on. They all end up talking about you and your imaginary problems anyway, so take some of the advice already posted because no-one's going to repeat it here.Nelly's other Mr. Hyde0 -

You had the opportunity to do a degree (not everyone does)
You have not had to support yourself (some people do)
You have the opportunity to do well in your studies (some people are not able to do that for a number of reasons)
You had the opportunity to do what you wanted to do and what you wanted to study (a luxury to many people)
You will not starve if you don't get a job, nor will you be homeless (not everyone has that security)
Need me to keep going???
Your choice to allow distraction because you don't enjoy your college course is a cop out. You use it as an opportunity to whinge, when it is of your making.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Right I've had enough of this self pitying !!!!. I have never responded to a post you have made before but now I'm going to tell you a story.
Once upon a time there was a teenager "R". When she was 13 her mum was diagnosed with cancer, when she was 16 her mum died. She messed up her GCSE's big time because of the stress and caring commitments.
But she picked herself up and did resits and then A-levels. After 6 form she went to uni, did a part time job to suppliment her loans and worked her !!!! off for 3 years. She came out of it with a 2:1.
The day after she finished uni she started looking for a job (any job) and first worked in a care home and then in a Drs surgery both these jobs were short term. Eventually after 1.5 years through alot of hard work and applying for any job going she gained a permenant position. Last year she managed to buy her own home she is debt free apart from her mortgage and student loans.
That person is my 28 year old sister, I am so proud of her. You are not the only person who faces adversity in your life, you have to just get on with what life throws at you.
And to answer your original question we as a family could live on about £1000 if necessary although we have a relatively small mortgage, and we would have to cut out the unnecessary spending ie Sky and mobilesSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Don't fall down that trapdoor of making this thread about you, keep to the original question!!0 -
I have tried and battled all my life to be something and I do get a bit annoyed that this degree has made me into nothing. What sort of life is that where you can not even get a job that allows you to earn enough to live on?:beer:0

As i stated above phil, this thread is not about you, but about how much people can survive on, you are not going to get any more responses if they read the twaddle they read everyday!!0 -
How can you have wasted your life? I presumme you are in your early 20's, like I said before you just have to get on with what life throws at you. If you have a degree you are in the position to get a job it might not be the job you want initally but you have the next 40 years to get to that point.
I have to sign off now my dd is waking up and I have promised make bread with herSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Phil - get back on topic. If you really want to torture yourself and cover old ground again, go and read your old threads. No need to repeat it all here; it's clear no-one wants to read it.Nelly's other Mr. Hyde0
