How much is my deposit with Netflights when cancelling?

I've recently booked flights and car hire with Netflights. The flights were ~£1400, but I've since had a price alert from Kayak and similar flights can be had which would save me ~£350. The flights aren't until August, so I think I'll lose my deposit if I cancel but nothing more. However, I never paid a deposit as I paid in full, and I can't see anywhere what my deposit would be. Is it a fixed percentage of my final bill? Is it a fixed amount unrelated to my final bill? Is it zero as I didn't pay a deposit?

    At a guess you paid in full and your flights are non-refundable. That's usually the case with economy flights.

    As above, non refundable is my guess
  • Your deposit is your whole amount. You've almost definitely booked non-refundable tickets.

    From their webpage:
    "Should you cancel your confirmed booking or part of your booking, then the following cancellation charges will apply:
    a) Package Holidays;
    More than 70 days prior to departure deposit only.
    70 - 57 days the higher of 30% of the total cost or loss of deposit.
    56 - 29 days the higher of 50% of the total cost or loss of deposit.
    28 - 15 days the higher of 70% of the total cost or loss of deposit
    14 days or less 100% of total cost."

    Does that not cover me then? I'm way more than 70 days from travelling.

    but it does not sound like you have booked a "package holiday" so those terms will not apply so you need to read b

    b) Single Component;
    If you need to cancel you must contact us. Except for Accommodation only: Cancellation charges vary depending on the services booked and will be higher the later you cancel and will be advised at the time of booking. In all cases a minimum cancellation fee of £50 will apply regardless of the value of the service cancelled. In some cases it may not be possible to offer any refunds for certain services such as air tickets once a booking has been made. Please ensure you are certain of the fees applicable to your booking by asking us before proceeding to book your arrangements.

    If it is deposit only which isn't likely the flights are usually £150pp and £50 deposit for the car so you wouldn't be any better off.
  • I wouldn't believe Kayak as being up to date anyway they don't usually have "live" prices

    Was the price all-inclusive or are the prices for flights/car-hire individually specified on your confirmation? If the latter, it's not a true package.

    If you said you booked flights, they aren't part of a package holiday. only package holidays are.
