Playing devils advocate, but who is to say you didn't just sell the diamonds as they are worth good money sold separate.
They have an out by the ring being misshaped, for customer service reasons they will string you along saying all the right thing getting it inspected etc but the end result will be the same, pay to have it repaired.

Two things go against you, the missing diamonds, if you had them they would have just re set them for goodwill and the fact you bought it in KL, this gives you no UK rights what so ever.

Tiffany diamonds aren't that great, actually, and by the sounds of it they were tiny rather than of any certified size.

I think Tiffany are overrated TBH. You're paying a premium just for the name. Same as all designer goods.

You can get much better jewellery from independant jewellers for a fraction of the cost of a Tiffany piece. All that marketing hype really works doesn't it ?

Wouldn't the OP's contents insurance cover this ?

I guess it shows that you're paying for the name and not necessarily for quality.

I did, however, think they had good customer service. I'd be tempted to get an independent report done to show it was poor quality for the price, and thus the diamonds fell out.

    How much was it?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Until i read this thread it never occurred to me to take my rings off in bed.

My engagement, wedding and eternity ring have been there since the day they were put on.

I can't be the only one to be oblivious to this.

Bromleymum- I'm the same as you. My wedding and engagement rings have been on my finger for 14 years- they were only taken off on hospital visits. I would NEVER take them off before bed -they are still perfectly round. They are safest on my finger and will remain there.

What are they though? What kind of metal? What kind of stones? What kind of setting?

Wearing rings (especially stone set rings) in bed isn't a good idea really. The claws can wear and catch on bedding, they can become misshapen and this is when the settings can be compromised.

Tiffany rings are usually quite high set if they're solitaires, it wouldn't be a good idea to wear one in bed.

Mine stay on all the time too, except for when I make pastry. they are all perfectly shaped and stones are all secure.

My wedding ring is an an 18ct band with a white gold inlay
My engagement ring is 18ct with a round diamond in the middle and marquise cut either side, hand made in Dubai
My other ring is an 18ct band with six sets of three diamonds set into the band.

My mum wears her engagement ring every day, she's just had her golden wedding anniversary and she wears her mum's ring every day too, that is about 75 years old. Neither are mis-shapen and both have all the original stones.

I would be serioulsy pee'd off with Tiffany if the band was so thin that is would mis-shape just from wearing it in bed, that really shouldn't happen to any ring.

The OP hasn't said that it was damaged in bed, just that she'd worn it in bed, she didn't know how it had become misshapen. I would imagine this has definitely contributed to the loss of the stones though.
