Leave Sky and go to Freesat - Any good?

The HDR-1010S has WiFi built in which can be used for catch-up TV services. There may be cheaper ones available.
BT offer Discovery as part of their TV Entertainment package but this will require BT broadband and line rental. The package is currently £5 for six months, £7.45 after that (excluding broadband and line rental costs). There is a HD "bolt-on" available free for six months and then £3 per month after that.
Currently the only way to receive Discovery via satellite is part of a Sky package. BT's offering is through YouView which is a Freeview (aerial) and internet-streamed content mixture. And you can receive it through something like NowTV as well, I believe.0 -
Much obliged for that (I missed the wifi version of the Humax box). Do you know of any (better) alternatives to Humax?
Thanks also for the NowTV hint. Need to do some further research but it looks like an option.0 -

Freesat has a limited range of boxes, of these these Humax are the better of the several brands. See the Freesat website for details, of all the boxes available.

We have, over the years, owned three brands of PVR and Humax (both still working at over 5 years old ) are by far the best of them.0

Yes, we started with a "cheap" freesat from Bush (Argos) and after the umpteenth failed recording took it back and bought the humax. Never looked back and now have 2 of them (Original and a Freetime model). Just as reliable as Sky+ but without that monthly cost
Humax always seem to have managers specials deals though. We got our Freetime this way and they come with full 12 months warranty.

You can always buy the cheaper models and get the wifi dongle. It's quite a premium for the wifi model, although the humax site seems to be out of stock, so may be an ebay job.0 -
Be good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.0

Hi
I've got SKY Freesat, but it's just stopped working. I don't know what to do?
Should I pay £65 to have an engineer come out or upgrade to SKY TV as it's free for an engineer to come out then?
Thanks - John0 -
What does "stopped working" mean? Whats the issue?0
