Yes, you're absolutely right, I did type the wrong price. I meant to write £260 (not being able to remember the exact price but knowing it was close to that)
The £160 was a typo.
Not sure why the immediate accusations and "busted" comments though? Exactly what would I have to gain by lying deliberately?0 -
Yes, 'make them dance' was an unfortunate phrase, I do apologise.
'Make them compete' is more in the spirit of this Consumer site.
Driving down the price is what it is all about, help from the trade maybe on the best prices and the best way to go about it.
Whistleblowing on bad practices maybe.0 -
Indeed it was.Yes, 'make them dance' was an unfortunate phrase, I do apologise.
If you change the word "make" to read "invite" then I'll agree with you. No one HAS to or be forced to comply with your whims. Thats the quickest way to get you on the list.'Make them compete' is more in the spirit of this Consumer site.
No it isn't. What its about is achieving a fair price for the work - one that you are happy with and one that the tradesman is happy with.Driving down the price is what it is all about,
Concur.help from the trade maybe on the best prices..........
How do you determine what is and what isn't a bad practice? What qualifications do you have to say thusly? What qualifications do you need to be able to say thusly? The essence of any commercial relationship is trust and that works BOTH ways. If it isn't there then the relationship is doomed for the very start.Whistleblowing on bad practices maybe.
