Great idea on £££'s.
Hope you get discharge sorted out ok.
I think they forget sometimes that people have ordinary lives & that other things all have to tie up IYSWIM?

Doing brilliantly as usual SA. Total superstar.
Hope Mr SA's CT was clear today and his fall was just a one off XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Thanks beanie and lucky - totally agree with you beanie. I often feel like saying to them "I have one of those things that pays the bills called a job".
Mr SA is still ok. The CT scan was looking for blood clots in the lungs apparently and it hasn't shown up any - phew!
Started new re-jigged budget today as Mr SA's ESA was paid in. So now have £200 to last for the next two weeks. Have split this into 2 so call it £100 per week. However, Mr T shop tonight will take care of about £75 of it! Had to order a load of extras just in case Mr SA is discharged. Have put his mobile phone money of £20 to one side so that will be sorted when the bill arrives.
Squared up with Tesco CC today and had a shock when I looked at it and it was over £400. Had forgotten already about the fridge freezer being on it! Will have to pay for this out of savings.
Paid another £160 off Barclaycard as DD paid her board money last week, so now only owe £180 on this. Also paid £3 into VSP so that now stands at £236.21. Oh and the other CC (Halifax) is now down to £3394.04 as minimum payment went out in the week. Looking forward (weirdly!!!!) to tackling this debt when the Barclaycard has been paid off. Will be calculating estimated debt free date over the next couple of days - then I'll see if I can beat my target!
Desperately need to get my garden sorted as trees and shrubs have gone out of control. Will be ringing a couple of gardeners for a quote asap. Ideally I'd like to get it sorted while I'm off work next week or the week after. Also need a new stair carpet. We had a mad idea last year to pull up the old stair carpet and paint the stairs white. It looked great at first - then the paint started chipping, even though it was a really good brand and especially made for painting stairs. So now I've given up and realised a carpet would be the best thing. So quotes for this too are needed.
More expense!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
You are amazing. I will keep reminding you of that!
Managing your money so well (how did you get into debt in the first place!) and looking after hubby. A big :j to no blood clots. That is a huge relief!
I have been spending money like water and things are going to be interesting September!!
Hope hubby gets to come home soon.

Sun Addict, how about ringing your local church and asking them to recommend a gardener? I rang the local church when I needed a recommendation for a builder, and the one they recommended was absolutely brilliant. The housekeeper had had work done on her house by this chap, so knew he was good, reliable and reasonably priced. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Thanks all
Amber - what a shame - and I have a Tassimo machine with Costa pods too! I've got a few numbers of local gardeners so will be ringing round this afternoon to get quotes. I think around £10 an hour seems to be the going rate. It would be good to get someone out next week when I'm off. Same with carpet people. Oh and I need a window cleaner as well but not the local one who we used to have who did a rubbish job. Don't know how you find window cleaners - I know they have "rounds".
Mr SA is very down in the dumps as still no news on discharge date. He has asked his nurse and I'm going to ask tonight too. I know they are very concerned about his risk of falling but it's very distressing listening to his pleading to come home.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Good evening all!
Happy birthday to me! Not one of my better birthdays that's for sure! Sat here with dog, bottle of cava and pizza express pizza from Mr S. This time last year we were in Kalkan in Turkey. What a comedown!
Finished work at 12 today and went for lunch with two friends from work. It was very nice. Mr SA wanted me to get myself something nice from him so got myself a bottle of J'Adore which is one of my faves. He is not happy about not being around for my birthday for the first time in 30 years. However he is allowed out for the day tomorrow and also Sunday but not allowed to stay overnight as he is at risk of a fall. Have had loads of cards and offers from friends to meet up. Hospital sprung the news he is allowed out tomorrow just this afternoon and can you believe I have hairdressers at 10!!!! However DS has offered to pick him up and bring him home and then when I've done at hairdressers I'll take him out for lunch. I'm sure these hospitals think no one has a life! Mr SA also had brain scan today so hopefully everything is ok although I'm slightly concerned about his confusion at the moment.
For once this is not Finance Friday - excused for birthday purposes!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
