Happy New year SA
x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Thanks folks
Mr SA feels too rough to go out. BIL has got bronchitis so now Mr SA thinks this is what he's got. I'm not that bothered to be honest, we can go for lunch any time and at least it will be the first NSD of 2018.
Every Monday my new budget starts and I've decided to put whatever is left from the week before in an empty body lotion tub and every so often have a day off work and a potter in town or a nearby town. I used to do this a few years ago, about once every 12 weeks and I enjoyed it. Because we've been nowhere over the last week, there was over £15 in my purse, not counted it yet as Mr SA appears from nowhere at the sound of money and I don't want him to know about it.
Well all the Xmas decorations are down and I'm in the process of giving everywhere a good clean. Doesn't look too bare as I keep the lighted twig tree and garland up all year round, plus assorted fairy lights - I do love my fairy lights and candlesThe rope light round the tree in the garden will stay up too.
Had a text from my WW coach today reminding me about Saturday's class! I know I knowGot to get back on it though.
Can't believe it's back to work tomorrow, although feels like I've been off for ages.
Mr SA has gone back to bed and DD still hasn't emerged - honestly she's the world's oldest teenager!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I'm glad you've stuck to your plans SA, even if lunch out was off the menu. I'm taking my decd down too apart from the fairy lights and the place is going to get a vacuum and dust.
I think it's a brilliant idea to take a sneaky fun day off every few weeks. I'd go insane without my Saturday wander.

Just done finances so scores on the doors as they say:
Emergency fund £1685.31/£10,000 - a long way to go - first mini target is to get it up to £2,000.
VSP £42.87 - this is for next Christmas.
Food/alcohol/household £151.79 left to last 2 weeks
Other spends £115.79 left to last 2 weeks
Holiday balance £360.00/£803.90 - payable 25 January - more to be added this week
Need to add my spend pot - not counted it yet but it's just over £15, waiting for Mr SA to go out of earshot.
Weight loss - not weighed myself yet, will face the music at WW on Saturday.
January alcohol free days = 0 so far
January no spend days = 1
Not a lot going off this week so shouldn't spend much. Trying to live off the food we have in freezer/cupboard this week.
Other spends wise need some wood glue and Mr SA "needs" a box to keep his screws in. Oh and just remembered DS asked me to pick up some sleepy body cream from Lush for DGS (he said he'd give me the money but as it's for DGS I don't like to take it really).
Next week it's DD's birthday but I'll just stick £20 in a card.
Must make my soup for work lunches now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
DD has just been out and returned with the mystery man. Maybe he'll do her wardrobe for her :rotfl:
It's a weird set up, she doesn't even get dolled up for him. Daren't question her too much as I don't want to dash my hopes of her moving out if she says he's just a friend and it's true.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Happy New Year SA, I also slept through it, don't think I missed much. Went out for a walk in a swamp that used to be a field. Could do with a dry period, been wet for ages. Hoping for a quiet period on the money front, determined to save £1000. in my EF which is my priority.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000
