First chance I've got to sit down today.

The carpets are finally fitted :j:T:beer::j They look lovely and the house smells of new carpets :)

Had to chase up carpet place when they hadn't turned up by 10.30 though.

Put quite a bit of furniture back but will finish the rest at the weekend. Argos picked up the broken wardrobe and delivered new one :T Just got to put it together at the weekend, looking forward to that :rotfl:

Got to work this morning, switched on my computer and it went bang. Had to use a spare computer for the rest of the day which wasn't ideal :(

Still feel rough today but haven't really got time to be ill so trying to ignore it.

Work Christmas do number 2 tomorrow, this time whole office, about 100 of us going but there are actually 160 in total in our office so good job we're not all going as could get rather cramped! Am wearing last year's party dress that I didn't get chance to wear, still had the price tag on! Really looking forward to it :)

    Thanks Beanie :)

Forgot to add all traces of snow and ice have gone thanks to rain and much milder weather today.

Wow, you've got to new carpets - surely the end of the house makeover is in sight now, Sun.A?

Hope you enjoy the works bash tomorrow! :)
  • Whoopee to the new carpets! Finally! I love the smell of new carpets! Wardrobe will be up soon but I’d leave the painting till after Christmas - you’ve done enough these past weeks!

Hope you’re feeling a lot better and that you had a ball at the lunch.

Robin - still the dining room, living room and spare bedroom to go, but not until well into next year as have run out of money unsurprisingly!

Work do was fab although amounts of food were a bit sparing. The main course came on plates the size of side plates! The blokes weren't impressed!

Afterwards everyone went on for cocktails but of course I had to get back home. I feel like I've spent my whole life having to rush back from somewhere for either kids or Mr SA.

Bizarre thing en route to town from work was half eaten fish on the pavement, must've been dropped by a heron as our workplace is next to the canal. Imagine walking by and that dropping on you :(

Still don't feel great, feel like if I allowed it to the lurgy would take over but I won't give in.

It was lovely to get dressed up today but feel a bit flat now. Back to reality.

Anyway that's it, no more Christmas lunches :( We're doing Christmas Jumper Day tomorrow at work then that's the last Christmas thing.

  • Oh dear to the tiny plates of food SA! I would have been a bit miffed too!:D. I’m glad you felt nice and glam today and enjoyed yourself though. Re missing the cocktails - couldn’t you have spun it out a couple of hours longer - wouldn’t Mr SA be ok for a while on his own?

We’ve got Christmas jumper day tomorrow as well though I don’t sport one myself!:D

Hope you lose the rest of the lurgy.

  • Glad you enjoyed getting dressed up and having fun at your Christmas do.
Next year could DD or DS not sit with Mr SA so you could stay out a bit longer.

    Take care xx

He just doesn't like me going out, it's not the being on his own.

Absolutely streaming cold today :( Eyes, nose and throat so sore :( Unbelievably Mr SA said he hopes I don't pass it on to him - if he gets it he'll relax with his feet up, which is what I should be doing but can't.

Not a lot else to report - thank goodness it's Friday :)

  • Glad you enjoyed your Christmas meal SA, even if the food was lacking!

Get your feet up and get rid of the cold before Christmas xx
