Trip to Aldi today (living the dream!). Stocked up on fresh stuff for the week. Soup for work lunches made (spicy lentil and tomato). Can't believe the weekend is almost over :(

Did some more cleaning and putting stuff in kitchen cupboards. Made a list of what needs doing in the house - every room needs redecorating/flooring. Will start with DD's room when we come back from Ibiza. Have estimated should be enough left over in the pot to tart up the rest of the house after the building works have been paid for - provided we don't go mad. Will get the plasterer back for the rooms that need it plus the painter for the ceilings and walls - I can do the glossing.

So - this time next week the refurb should be finished. I know I keep saying that - things seem to be dragging on a bit. Certainly not the estimated 3-4 weeks predicted at the start - week 7 begins tomorrow. All that's left is the bathroom skirting board, kitchen tiling and floor. Kitchen floor will be mega expensive at £800 but it needs levelling off first as going over quarry tiles and the area is 16 sq metres plus the wood effect vinyl isn't cheap. Mr SA about had kittens when he found out the price.

It has been so nice getting everything done properly after so many years of Mr SA bodging things to do on the cheap.

Here's to a great week ahead for us all :)

That 7 weeks has gone so fast for me reading SA, probably not so fast for you living through it! So glad you will have enough in the pot to spruce up the rest of the house xx

    Hello all :)

Penny you're a brave soul reading all my diary - it goes pear-shaped quite quickly, not what I was expecting at all.

Just waiting for floor to be put down in the kitchen and it's all done - finally :)

It is exciting HI. The downside is it highlights that the rest of the house badly needs doing now.

No builders today but they'll be back tomorrow to do the kitchen floor.

Went to gym today for the second time this week, another session planned for Friday. Also been walking to and from work clocking up an average of 20,000 steps a day. Was really pleased because I went on the treadmill and managed to run for a bit, first time since I broke my ankle :)

Mr SA rang me at work to tell me he wants a petrol lawnmower. We got rid of the petrol lawnmower we had because it was too heavy for him and he couldn't operate the starter cord. We got an electric mower which he cut through the wire of just a few weeks ago (which he also said was too heavy). Replaced this with a very lightweight one which he said was just right. So now he wants a petrol one!!!!! (Bangs head against brick wall.) Had to cut him off because I was in the middle of doing something I had to concentrate on and he was sending my stress levels sky high!

Only 11 more working days to holiday, I am so ready.
