Thanks Mint - I try to make he always has £5 on him but don't always have change, whatever I give him he spends. Good idea about ignoring the incident. He'd bought her 3 glasses of wine so hopefully she might not remember! I know if it was her OH who did that to me I'd give him a wide berth in future.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

hello SA.
I am also in awe of you and managing all this xxx You really are impressive.
hope the week improves. xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi SA, good advice there, just be prepared in case it happens again. Am sure it's just one of those bloody horrible things that has developed as a result of his illness.

Frontal lobe is the site that controls "inhibitions", so I suppose might be accident-related? I know that doesn't help much, though.
Hugs xxWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Pleased you had a nice holiday SA - sounded lovely! Also congrats on the new grandchild....must be frustrating that you haven't got to see her yet, hope you do soon!
Sorry to hear about Mr SA - sounds like it was out of character for him - probably illness related, as has been said, but a hard thing for you to deal with.
Big hugs to you xx0 -
Thanks all
Mr SA asked me why I was being off with him today and I reminded him about Saturday night. He didn't deny it. Told him he had embarrassed me and he sulked a bit then said apologise to her on his behalf. I said I was too embarrassed to bring the subject up.
Aside from that the social care assessment went well and it looks like his care package will be continuing. His OT came with pictures of his brain damage. She said he has the equivalent brain injury of someone being in a bad car crash and that he's done well to get to the stage he has.
Still not seen granddaughter. It has transpired that Mr SA told them not to rush because he's full of cold.
Had £8 left in my purse from last week's budget so have paid £10 off debt and will therefore draw £10 less out tomorrow for this week's budget. Debt now stands at £1920. I can't pay large amounts off at the moment until I've got straight but I can chip away at it with small amounts for the time being.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

You organisational skills are impressive.
Handy of Mr SA to say that. NOT.
huff.
So lovely lady aside from seeing new small person, what is the next thing to look forward to?
I sadly am looking forward to getting my Nan's rocking chair out of the loft (23 ish years after I inherited it) and re painting it........yes I know, I either need to get out more or give in and get a cat!

Buffy I've got 3 goals at present:
1. Save for another holiday!!!
2. Get back to goal weight
3. Get debt free.
Not necessarily in that order!
At some some stage in the near future need to seriously think about whether to (a) remortgage and do house up or (b) sell house as it is and let someone else have the stress of doing it up.
Learning to drive is still on my list too. So many things so little time!
Mr SA and carer are currently in the process of emptying out the pond. So this means a new pond pump as old one has broke. More expense! It needs doing though.
One good thing on the horizon is that the loan for Mr SA's van finishes next month. So will be £102 a month better off. Which reminds me we need to do something about said van as it's been sat on our drive for over a year without going anywhere. It's been started up from time to time but can't go anywhere in it as it's declared SORN. Could do with selling it and putting money towards a car for when either I pass my test or Mr SA can drive again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
