Feeling absolutely carp, glands on my throat are like golf balls, really strugling to keep up with baking and things in general, DH insisted I stay in so he's doing the shoping for party food. Lamewolf, I'll join you in a toddy, can yah make mine a brandy one ?
Forever Saving, your poor daughter. What an awful thing for her to go through whilst in an exam. ((hugs)) for her.
DH has just got home, I made a list for him and said I needed carrots for serving carrot sticks with dips. He's bought 2 !! FGS !!
Just sent him back down for more and I asked for mild cheese for the kiddies, he's got extra mature cheddar !! rolls eyes.

DD2 went to the Dr earlier whilst I looked after DGDs, she's got acute Laryngitis. :(

Thank you Floss I shall have a look.
Forever Saving, it must be so hard for your dd. I'm sure you've already thought of it but has she tried the natural looking false lashes or the ones you can have put in individually. I know they don't last forever, just a suggestion hope you don't mind.
Just watching Escape to the Country, its my favourite but this couple have £900,000 to spend:eek: I much prefer it when the budget is realistic.
Better get on with tea before the hordes descend:)

    Morning all,

Rosy red that's sounds like a fab day out and right up my street. I don't live too far from the Trafford Centre, wish I had know about it. Have a good day.

Mary Berry has been my baking guru for years. That sounds like a fab day. I love things like this. I've got a free ticket to the Country Living Show in a few weeks. I can't wait.

  • Beth, thankyou for hugs for dd.
Julie, yes false eyelashes are an option. The Dr and dermatologist both said only for special occasions though. They didn't think it would be a good idea long time incase it hindered the growth.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

    Evening all
Phew, what a day, worked all day, then took DGD to gym, no where to sit, I had to stand for an hour after being on my feet for 8 hours at work, came home & made her tea & read to her.
Received a lovely Moonpig bouquet from DS1, he's on holiday, skiing in the French alps, lucky thing.
Home now for a while, need to collect hubby at 8 & then an early night for a bit of Hestering, lol.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Evening everyone - hugs to all, especially BB

Had one of the worst days at work today - boss was hell bent on dictating for the world and expecting me to do it all, then I found out pretty much all the other people had gone for lunch together (bar two other secretaries) and not invited me :( I shouldn't take it to heart (I'm not a gossip and tend to be hidden away at work due to no-one wanting to speak to my boss as well) but I did/have. I've been there nearly 6 years, and just feel I'm getting nowhere anymore. Longing for the days when I lived in York and it was mandatory to have a drink on a Friday with everyone!

Never mind, must think of the good things, OH and family all here which is why I moved back. /rant over :rotfl:

This weekend we have OH's kids. His Daughter has gone to see Justin Bieber tonight with her best friend at 02 - I hope he turns up! She's not the biggest fan but her best friend is, plus it's her first concert. Probably not as bad as my first concert - NKOTB in 1991 when I was 10 :rotfl:

Anyway, hope everyone has a good evening, wine is needed I think after today

It is expensive to start off, I have just done a course and begun to buy the kit, but its great fun and really satisfying to see peoples reaction to what I've made!

Thanks for the location pointer RosyRed!
