  • Morning everyone :)

Yay for being Friday! Busy-ish day ahead, working until 4 and then home for a quick tidy up before entertaining my boyfriends brother and partner tomorrow afternoon. By tidy up, I mean move the mess from the lounge into the spare room and shut the door ;) Chilli Taco's for tea tonight, with the flapjack I've just cooked with year 7 for afters - some days, teaching food is really handy!

    Have a lovely Friday

    Morning
Off to work in a minute so thought I would pop by in case I dont get chance later.
Wet and misty here, no cycling for me today. I cycled whatever the weather when I was only 1/2 mile from work but now its 3 1/2 I would just get to wet and drowned rat is not a good look.;)
I was going food shopping this morning but CBA to go out in rain and have something in freezer we can have for dinner so NSD for me.
OS DW emptied, bedding in WM it will go on airer, remembered to put dustbin out this week, forgot last week but luckily it was only recycling so not smelly.
DS home today think he plans to out this afternoon.
When I get in from work I need to tackle DD student finance app for coming year, it was a real minefield last year and cant see this one being any different
Halight glad you had better nights sleep, sure you will feel benefit.
Judi laughed at you planning worms for OH tea, at least with the rain bringing them to the surface you should be able to find plenty:)
    Thoughts to all.

    Hi all

Halight I'm so pleased you got a decent night's sleep.:o

:D I don't do hugs in RL, but am always happy to accept virtual ones.:o

Dins tonight will be HM nut loaf (from the freezer) with sweet'n'sour sauce with pineapple chunks in. There's also a little bit of banana cake that wants using up, so I've suggested we eat that up by way of pud, and I'll make a carrot'n'orange cake at the weekend. I'll also make a cherry crumble at the weekend, I think.;)

    Morning all,
Didn't get on here y/day as I was run ragged, I've had DGD2 staying with us since Monday morning and I've been washing/cooking/ironing for DD2, she has flu like symtems and is looking after DGD3 who has c/pox.
I've made a list of food needed for DGD2's birthday party on Sunday, there are now 15 kids and God knows how many parents.
Today I'll make little cakes, tarts and saus rolls, jellies and do sarnies etc on Sunday morning.

Was about to put DGD2 to bed last night at 7.30 when DD2 phoned to say she was going to pop in and see her. She didn't turn up until 8pm and then deceided to take her home. Not happy at all, just feel I was being used. It all happened so quick I was left feeling that she had snatched DGD2. Silly I know as she is her Mum. :(
Today DGD2 has gone to playschool so I had to get up and take her there and will pick her up and take her home.
Could have done without that as I have a sore throat and swollen glands, was bound to pick up their lurgy.

Must post my Mum's card as I forgot y/day.
I think today I will just cook for DH and me, for a change. Got some fillet steaks in the freezer, to go with salad & chips. Sorted.
DGD2's b/day tomorrow so lots of wrapping to do.
    Vacume and kitchen cleaning today.
    Have a good day all.

    Morning all,

    Halight glad you slept ok
NLJ I'm also full of a cold, sore throat headache and general miserableness do you want to join me in a virtual hot toddy at Lamewolfs:D
Rosy red that's sounds like a fab day out and right up my street. I don't live too far from the Trafford Centre, wish I had know about it. Have a good day.

So forced myself to have a shower and put a bit of make up on so I don't look so much like death warmed up.
Also managed to do some listings for eBay and post a couple of parcels. Need to nip to Mr T later but otherwise I'm not up to much, just want this cold to go away and feel normal.
May have a full pj day tomorrow and dose myself up so I'm fit for the meal in the evening.
TTFTM I also never start the daily:o not sure how to do it:o I'm sure I would mess it up.
Have a good day all x

    Yucky day here as well
We are having steak and kidney pie today, I have told DH that I can no longer do dinner at 8pm, it is playing havoc with my blood sugar, so we are going back to having our main meal at 2.30pm. So everything is prepared and the meat is in the oven cooking gently and the pastry is in the fridge, potatoes peeled and runner beans prepared. I am really looking forward to it, I haven't made a pie in an age apart from mince pies at Christmas, There is a lot of meat so I think that I will get a couple of pies out of it and freeze one.

Just got the post and I am not happy that the house insurance has gone up by £50 and that O2 has sold its broadband service to sky, I hate Murdoch with a passion and won't pay a penny towards any of his companies.
So I have some price comparing to do after dinner.

My sight is still rubbish and I had the black dog biting my back this morning but I gave it a good kick and pulled myself together, but it is getting hard to stay positive :(

halight I am glad that you actually slept through the night animated-smileys-sleeping-031.gif:D

Mary Berry has been my baking guru for years. That sounds like a fab day. I love things like this. I've got a free ticket to the Country Living Show in a few weeks. I can't wait.

I've just come back from my IT training as they booked me onto the wrong course. So I had to travel an extra 15 miles, pay £2.70 in parking and miss DS2's concert because of their mistake. They accused me of getting it wrong but fortunately I had email confirmation from them. So annoyed but at least that's me done with work until Tuesday. :j
  • Good afternoon all,
Miserable day here. The fog hasn't lifted at all. It is now throwing it down with rain. I think it is set in for the rest of the day and into the night.
Belated birthday wishes to Redruby. Hope you had a lovely day x
So glad its Friday. It seems to have been a long week at work.
Dd's eyelashes have fallen out again, all of them. It happened in the middle of an exam at school. They were all just falling down onto the page. She said she just couldn't concentrate after that.
Going to get housework done tonight as hubby dd will be at work, other dd is going out and hubby will be at work.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.
