O/S Daily Friday 08th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

halight that's fantastic! Take it easy today though. No little jobs to aggravate your wrist.
Morning everyone.
Work for me today, including a two hour training course on an IT programme I've already been using for a fortnight. I'm missing DS2's Mothers Day celebration but OH is off work so he's going instead.
I've been writing a big wish list of things I need to help make my life more OS. My first purchase is going to be lots of Lock & Lock storage boxes to streamline my cupboards, I'm going to fund these purchases with the money I'm saving on my food shop.
Hope you all have great days.0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Foggy, damp, dreary and dreich here this morning.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was lamb casserole, mash, veg, LO yorkshires - was delicious - clean plates all round. Tonight the boys are going to mum and dads so will be eating there. DH and myself will eat at the caravan - but not sure yet what that will be, will organise that this morning whilst I'm doing the food shopping.
Have several things on the list that need to be done today - go to town, the bank, food shopping, ring the bathroom people as carpet/floor fitter was supposed to ring me but I've heard nothing. Rang my heating/plumbing people and they are booked for next Friday to bring me a new electric shower and fit it - so hopefully I'll only need to be without my shower in the en-suite for this week - pricewise wasn't silly money either, wasn't really any more expensive to get them in than to buy the shower myself, find a plumber and an electrician - my company have quoted a price for the whole job and that includes them providing the shower (and it's a really good make). Yesterday also went to my sister's and measured the hob and oven and it's exactly the same size I have now - so have told her I definitely want them both - will just need to get them fitted - again will speak to my plumbing people - they may do that sort of thing, if not, I'm sure they will know a man that can! Today's other jobs will be ironing the last bits that weren't dry enough yesterday - pack a bag for the boys and pack for myself and DH but won't be taking much as we're only going down the road and he's on his course again all day tomorrow so we'll sleep at the caravan on site tonight, come back decent time in the morning he'll get a bath etc, then go to his course and I'll do stuff at home etc in the day time (there will be some sort of social event organised tonight so that's why we need to go tonight, need to show our faces etc!!). I'll go back to the caravan mid afternoon and get myself ready, and DH will come straight down to the caravan and get ready for the dinner - his course finishes at 4pm and there's a sherry reception at 5pm - so time will tight but it's do-able as long as we're organised! Having nails done at 12 noon - so wanting to have majority of the jobs done before then, so I'm not running around like a headless chicken this afternoon!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone
Late start for me this morning as I couldn't find the thread when I got up ... and I was too shy to start a new one myself so this is a flying visit from work.
Have decided to have a fun TV dinner tonight of fish finger butties with home made tartare sauce. Not really OS but the fish fingers were half price and the ciabatta was reduced, so that's my excuse and I am sticking to it
Not much else going on, am just staggering towards the weekend so roll on tonight. Weekend will probably consist of cleaning, decluttering, shopping, batch cooking and shouting at the rugby on TV!
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning Halight and all,
Glad you had a decent nights sleep Halight. I did too and i havent long got up either.
Weather is dire, its wet, foggy and cold.
Thinking of the poor babe who got stabbed going to school yesterday. She'd got the rest of her life ahead of her and some b*****d took it away from her. Its a cruel world.
Not forward to the weekend. Hubby is not at home and we've still managed to have a row. Glad its not just me. He's had a 'go' at our youngest too over nothing.
Jobs for today

Morning all, glad you got a good night's sleep halight.
Really misty here this morning, so washing will have to be draped over radiators to dry and on clothes horse.
Have caught a horrible cold, so trying to take things a bit easy.....no gym, going to cancel a meeting this afternoon so I don't spread the germs (meeting is at a local brewery) and then this evening am supposed to be off up to OH's for the weekend, but will phone and let him have the choice of catching the lurgy or not.
Very proud of how son is learning how to manage himself in the community....we had a great time yesterday.
Huge hugs all round (unless you hate hugs of course!)'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -

As for sleeping, I think sometimes your body just gets to the point were Its had enough, And it needs sleep.
Anyway. i do feel a lot better for it.
Well I hope that you all have a great day.

Morning all!
Dreich and miserable here today, and the past 2 evenings I have been freezing even with the heating on full blast.
Not a lot OS planned, but will finally ransack the freezer as I struggled to fit in yesterdays sliced roast beef! Ironing pile is empty until I wash again, but no doubt the kids will have full baskets, or in DS case, a full floor of washing!
Everyone is out for dinner tonight, so no cooking or shopping needed, but will pop down and see if mum needs anything heavy from the supermarket.
Right, better shift myself before I settle here playing games, have a good day all!RIP Iain

Morning all,
Got up this morning carried a cup of tea into the lounge, and spilt it all over my white (just painted) walls, the new oak flooring, the poor dogup the door, it went everywhere, its taken me a good hour to clean it up.

I am going to have a nice day today as I'm going to Event City near the TraffordCentre for a Cake baking and decorating event. My friend won 2 tickets-should have been £12 so quite OS,I think various celebs are going to be there including the dishy Paul HOllywood and Mary Berry.
