Just took the plunge having considered it many times in the past. At that price, it is definitely worth a try.

I feel like if I can get to grips with it, it will be a revelation!

    Thanks to the OP!

Never heard of these before but wouldn't like to mess on like that. I think I will stick with C.erazette thanks :)

I have a mooncup and it's great! I've only used it once when I went to a festival, I always end up using tampon plus pad combo because it's more convenient, but I think I should start using it more often.

For those with really heavy periods, menstrual cups are perfect! They can hold so much more than a supersize tampon, because it contains it like a container rather than soak it up, and it doesn't leak. Tampons always leak with my period even when it's not full :-( (sorry tmi)

When you empty it, do you have to do this while sitting on the toilet? So that when you squeeze and pull it out, it empties down the pan or can you pull it out while off the toilet and then pour it down the toilet?
Would you recommend it for some one who never got the hang of tampons?

I bottled out last year and bought 3 boxes of Tampax 48s just yesterday - they were on offer at £3 each at Sainsburys and will last for ages...

I would say sitting on the toilet is best, because you dont know how full it is, and ok TMI, but i find i dribble a bit after removing, but then again i prob did with tampons, but ive been using mooncup for sbout 12yrs now, so ive prob forgot if that happened then too.

I ws always an applicator tampon person, as just the thought of lillets made me yuk. Having to poke around with your fingers bleurgh. But as someone else said, you grow up your views change. I now hate the thought of tampons, as i remember that horrible feeling you get when removing a dry one (shudder). As i said, ive used the mooncup for years now and its nowhere near as yucky as tampns are

Ive been thinking about this for years. Can you feel it when sat down? Does it leak at all? Is it easy to insert?

Makes me feel a bit uneasy but I'll try anything once!

I bought one last year, I have very heavy periods but I find this so much better.

Nat - you can cut the stem down to a length where its right for you and then you shouldn't be able to feel it.

Inserting can be a little tricky at first, but there are tutorials on how to fold them, I was an expert within 3 days and haven't had a single leak since.
