Parking on kerb outside my house?

I may just be lucky enough to have reasonable neighbours but I've found that leaving a polite note on the windscreen helps.
We're currently renovating a house and needed to bring in building materials but found a car regularly parked on the pavement leaving only 2 foot between the car and our gate.:( There is plenty of room to park legally on the road, both sides, and still allow vehicles to pass. I placed a polite note under the windscreen explaining the problem and included my name & address. The car still parks on the pavement but now leaves the space in front of my gate clear.
I've since found out that the car belongs to a neighbour with 3 cars who has less street frontage and lives where the road narrows, hence the habit of parking on the pavement.
It can be annoying but if you actually spoke to the person parking their vehicle I'm sure you could reach a compromiseNo longer trainee

Please feel free to try it, I'll even give you the address, cars and registration numbers. Just dont get too annoyed when you're landed with a criminal record, civil action for repairs to the vehicles and further costs for my time and expenses.
The last person to damage my car was a student, and when served with a Stat Demand (after he thought we wouldn't follow through, and had ignorea CCJ), his parents ended up paying something like £4000, for damage that cost sub-£1000 to repair, plus hire car, solicitors bills, court fees etc. That was a very expensive couple of drinks.
Sorry if this seems a little off, but I get annoyed with people that think they're above the law.

He's not a neighbour, but a young hobbit-in-a-hoodie that lives on the adjacent road!
I expect he'd speak in some chav, "vowel-based" dialect I wouldn't understand; and I'd struggle with the overwhelming impulse to slap him! Being twice his size, it would be very tempting!
I'll give the police and council a chance to do something.0 -

I'm just venting. Believe me, I have too much to lose to actually be that foolish.
It has been reported and I'm waiting to hear from the police.0 -

A few years ago I got sick of one driver almost every day parking so near my drive, that it would make getting in an out a problem. I was living near a station at the time.
One night, I parked my car and my wife's car, tow bar first, as close as I could to the car. I went out for the evening. The car remained there all night.
The next day, when it became free again, it vanished while I was at work and was never seen again in my street. It parked in the next street from then onwards.
What an absolute c*ck you are!
Some of you people clearly have no life. Keep your noses out. As long as the car is taxed and insured then it doesn't concern you. Find something useful to do with your time. Don't you think the Police have better, and more important, things to do. Bet you're the first to whine that the Police aren't catching 'real' criminals0
