Aside from the obstruction it's an offence to park with one or more wheels on the footway, unless signs permit it. I would get on to the local council (or your local neighbourhood PCSO) and see about getting it ticketed.

I have to say that when when my children were in pushchairs, I have scraped past vehicles parked across the footpath. Didn't see why I should have to push a pram into a road? Footpaths are for pedestrians.

I went to a residents meeting a number of years ago and one of the subjects that came up was parking, everyone had their own driveways but lots parked on the road and partly on pavements. The Police stood up at the meeting and said that they turned a blind eye to it 'cos, when more cars were parked in the road it slowed any traffic down and that was considered to be more important.

Council will probably be the only ones that do any enforcement as the majority of parking offences have now been decriminalised therefore the police dont patrol it anymore, councils have taken over where the police left off.
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful

    Obstruction offences haven't been.

If you did that to definitely our 2 cars, possibly other models too, you'd break the electronic mechanisms, and thus would be guilty of criminal damage.

Don't advise to do things like this, as it's not just the high end cars that have these types of things now. I know that at least the last 4 cars I've had, have this mechanism, which were 3 Ford S-Max Titanium (last one was a Titanium X Sport) and my new one, which granted is a bit posher.

One of the Mondeos in the office had the mirror clipped whilst driving, and it cost about £700 to put right, which if you damage, you'll be paying.

And it would be your fault for parking illegally in the 1st place. You would in retaliation receive a claim for personal injury and damage to possesions as a result of my hitting your car.

If the repairs cost that much then it should serve as a lesson to such as yourself that think it's perfectly acceptable to park that way, it isn't. I watch an old disabled lad on his mobility thing, trying to ride down our road, wing mirrors are at just the right height to decapitate him.

You may also notice if you read carefully that I didn't advise any one to do any thing, I did make it clear to people like you who think it's fine to obstruct pedestrians, what it can actually cost them, thanks to your adding those costs.;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

And as for trying to claim personal injuries for walking round a car moving the wing mirrors. Have a day off from being a !!!!.

    Fine, you support illegal parking/obstruction, I don't.

Test that out in court and see who comes off best.

"He walked into my car judge, it's a 4x4, I'm allowed to park off road"

Who appointed you parking warden of your street?

Is there something wrong with your eyesight that you can't see the car so you walked into it or in your twisted mind is yours a lesser wrong?

Anyway your first post was about moving the mirrors, who gave you the authority to do that as a penalty for obstruction?
