I understand from your email that you want the details of your Sky Broadband usage for the last 6 months:
I have checked your account and below mentioned is the Sky Broadband usage:
Between 26/09/2012 to 26/10/2012 : 0.00 GB
Between 26/10/2012 to 26/11/2012: 0.00 GB
Between 26/11/2012 to 26/12/2012: 1.03 GB
Between 26/12/2012 to 26/01/2013: 9.72 GB
Between 26/01/2013 to 26/02/2013: 2.60 GB
Between 26/02/2013 to until today: 0.00 GB.
Hi, I am with Sky and currently have the unlimited broadband at £7.50 p/mth.
Limited (2GB p/mth), is free, so I was looking to change. I do not download music or film,, only do email, the odd Iplayer (IS that 'downloading), utube. Do this each day, ,so cannot see how I used NIL for each of 3 mths (or for that matter,, a lot more in Dec/Jan. Once years ago I uploaded loads of photos to Photoshop. I understand that IS uploading/downloading (same thing ?)
Is email 'usage'.? Don't see why it is nil for 3 mths

During the 3 months your computer may have connected to a neighbours internet that was "open". Look at the connection and see if you are connected to your own internet or your neighbours.I understand from your email that you want the details of your Sky Broadband usage for the last 6 months:

9.72GB isn't that much anyway so you should be OK on a 10GB limit and just watch the emails/usage monitor in those months which you use it a lot.
Usage includes and data transferred both ways and includes uploads too...
If you find your internet is still working with the router turned off then you could continue to use the neighbours internet until they secure it. You could then save yourself £7.50 a month. It's not stealing if they leave it wide open for you to use. They may themselves have unlimited internet and just don't care.:footie:

FYI Uploading is when you send something from your computer into cyberspace. Downloading is the reverse.
Uploading includes:- sending email
- sending pictures
Downloading includes:- receiving email
- browsing the interwebz
- watching YouTube
- watching iPlayer
Plus:- when you send email (uploading) you will also receive confirmations (miniscule downloading)
- when you watch YouTube or iPlayer or receive email (downloading) you will also send requests for those things (miniscule uploading)

Do you have the Wi-Fi function on your computer disabled?During the 3 months your computer may have connected to a neighbours internet that was "open". Look at the connection and see if you are connected to your own internet or your neighbours.

But how are you connecting between the PC and the router? Ethernet?
Email uses very little data, it may not even register on their inaccurate monitoring system. By contrast, iPlayer and youtube is streaming, and uses a lot of data. 2GB will not be adequate if you use those services much.
Why don't you just install your own monitoring software for a month and do your own assessment? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Good luck with the downgrade to the 2Gb 'free service' let us know how you get on.
FYI I don't believe the figures that Sky have given you. Its news to me that they bother monitoring the unlimited LLU BB service, you certainly can't see your usage on Mysky. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
ethernet cable is between computer and router.
WiFi.......? Can I get that ? If so how/where do I disable. I thought WiFi was only if you didn't use a cable. Only have one computer in the house.

You can log on to your router find the wireless settings and disable it.

Sky router may have gone down. Computer had no internet connection via Ethernet automatically switched to Wi-Fi and connected to the neighbours open Wi-Fi.:footie:
