Seller opening a case?

Yes, I marked the stars accordingly. I was only basing it on my perception of the transaction and it appeared to me that he had ignored emails and charged excessive postage.
Actually, I couldn't leave a star for communication, it was grayed out with a message saying ebay wouldn't allow me to score that because they didn't have a record of any communication between us (which is odd seeing as I sent the message through their systems, but maybe they don't class a payment request as 'communication').
The last message he sent said he would like to resolve it with me. I don't know what's to resolve. It was over and done with a month ago. I was only hoping for a postage reduction of about 50p to £1 in the first place, and I'm certainly not trying to get a refund now.0 -

Perhaps your messages didn't get through then?
(as I thought any lines of communication opened up the option of leaving a star for this category??)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You didnt have to bid until you got a response, so it seems a bit out of order to complain about something because you still went ahead & bought the items & paid.
As for the seller saying they will file a case with ebay, thats also a load of garbage!
I'd block both of you from my auctions!0 -
Pinkshoes - I wondered that myself - but I did get a copy of the messages sent to my email address by ebay, so they definitely registered somewhere in their system.
nobile - I was complaining about the high postage AND the lack of response to my messages. I discovered the auctions quite late in the day and didn't know I was going to win both. I emailed after I had won to ask if he would combine p&p. If he had responded and said no, then fair enough - but I was unhappy that he did not respond at all. I don't see what's so wrong about me noting that in my feedback.
And to be fair, I didn't leave a neg, I left a neutral which I thought was fair in the circumstances, as I was happy with some aspects but unhappy with others. I was prepared to pay the full price (and indeed I did pay the full price), but that doesn't mean I can't ask a seller to combine, and certainly doesn't mean I can't comment that I thought the p&p was high. I don't mind sellers adding a bit on to cover paypal fees etc, but as I had bought 2 very light-weight things which were sent in the same envelope with a stamp on, I think a 50p reduction would have been reasonable.0 -

Spot on. These people act like the seller forced them to bid. Sellers with combined postage will say so in their auctions.
The seller will just use the 'report a buyer feature'.
Ebay won't act on one complaint alone - but if a pattern forms they will. So too many complaints and buyers can now be held to account. Or so Ebay say.0 -
Don't quite understand why I'm being attacked. I never said the seller forced me to buy, and it's not as if I left a neg. I left a neutral which does state I'm happy with the item but unhappy there was no reply to my emails.
Regardless of whether the seller stated he would combine p&p in the listing, it's still common courtesy to reply to a question. If he didn't receive the question that's one thing, but I had no way of knowing that.
Plus, I do sell things on ebay myself from time to time. I don't state that I will combine p&p in my listings either, but I always DO combine if someone buys more than one thing. You can't assume a seller won't combine just because it isn't explicitly mentioned.0 -

No, the seller didn't force them to bid. However the seller chose to charge £3 for putting two items in one envelope with a first class stamp, and therefore should accept any feedback that an unhappy overcharged buyer wishes to leave. Seller is lucky it was only a neutral.0 -
I think you should check your "Sent" messages folder in ebay to make sure you actually did send your message to the seller.0

Whilst the seller doesn't have to offer reduced postage, in not doing so, they take the chance on their feedback when they charge 6x the actual cost of postage. The buyer is perfectly entitled to leave neutral or negative feedback without being intimidated by the seller.0

I left a neutral when an item arrived with no plug, so I queried whether this was standard. I was happy to fit one myself but that wasn't the issue, it was that i never got a reply. They claimed they didn't receive it but it s in my sent folder so either they ignored it or missed it. Either way, it isn't good business sense; I might forgive a small private seller with few items, but a big seller like that should be checking and responding almost instantly!0
