Herbalife, as good as it sounds????????

I read a swiss paper that stated that Herbalife products could cause fulminant hepatic failure and veno-occlusive (blockage) liver disease.
I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole, I did meet a Herbalife rep who was trying to claim that noni juice could cure cancer for £50 a bottle, dangerous snake oil with a very dubious model, if the products are that good why arent they stocked in Boots or the major supermarkets?0 -
All MLM's work by trading your social currency/value for a bit of cash. You start by hitting up your friends and family who naturally want to support you but seeing as the stuff is expensive they make some token purchases. Next, all MLM's start working the 'Multi-Level' bit, getting you to rope x friends into being sellers, and you get a slice of their sales as well. Sounds so simple - free money from nowhere, however the cards are stacked completely against you.
First of all, if you have to sign up 6 friends, and they do 6 other friends, etc you quickly run out of people in your social circle, so either get desperate and try selling on stalls for your pitiful slice, or buying off each other, or realising it's a bad job and throwing in the towel.
Beware - upstream sellers showing off wealth and cheques is a part of the sales system, they are encouraged to show off how well they're doing with psychobabble and to impress new sellers into the scheme. You may have heard of AmWay, another famous MLM scheme. This book was published by an 'Emerald' level seller (ie somewhat senior) when he realised a big sham the whole thing was, and how divisive. His damascene moment is in this pdf in full glory http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/gl/articles/merchants_of_deception.pdf if anyone wants to see the internals of a typical MLM. Very sobering reading especially the earlier chapters.0 -
I know someone that does something like this...I would stay clear...she has been trying to make this work for months and nothing has come of it yet...you really are quite restricted when it comes to what you can and can't do...plus it really isn't good for you health wise so not good to promote it
Good luck though whatever you decide to do.
