I think I've given up for the first 6m of this year! Nothing can effect house prices or stock markets at the moment it seems. The UK housing market is continuing to show signs of improvement, according to the latest survey from the Halifax.
House prices rose by 0.5% in February, it said, with property values now 1.9% higher than a year ago. The average property now costs £163,600.
Halifax also said housing sales had continued on a "modest upward trend".

I suspected we'd be in for a strong Spring bounce - and here we are. Reckon this could gather some momentum into the summer.
I note the BBC are reporting these rises as an "improvement". That'll really irk the HPC loons!

There isn't any point in speculating whether it will remain the same or be revised up or down, the point is, at the moment it is +0.5%Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Ah well, there'll be some excitement for the "bears" next month when the +2.2 drops out from the YoY calculation. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Unfortunately people continue to confuse rising house prices as an 'improving' market.
However the only true evidence of an improving market would be a significant increase in the level of sales.0
