TalkTalk deal in MSE: contract length?

Anyone know for certain what the contract term is with the TalkTalk Essentials half price offer that MSE refers to? I strongly suspect that it's 12m, but I'm having trouble finding that on the TalkTalk website.

before you jump dont go on price, you may regret it google talktalk
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Ah, on the main page I see "12 months contract". Clearly I need to visit the opticians :) .

Thanks for the warning Chanz. The problem I have is I'm out in the boonies, so no unbundling for me. I'm currently paying £18 for access, which I think I can finesse down to £17. For some reason though, TalkTalk seem to be allowing me to choose their Essentials package (whereas with Sky etc. I always get shifted onto their hillbilly rate).

I'll give TalkTalk a bell today to confirm this, which might give me an insight into their customer services.

Pointless using TT if it's not available LLU, as you pay a huge premium. The only reason for using them is because it's very cheap on LLU.
Their system doesn't always pick it up at the number check stage, but you'll get stuck with about a £15 surcharge at some point.

That's my point Macman. I expect to pay a huge premium (as my exchange isn't unbundled), and yet when I enter my postcode and telephone number, I seem to be eligible for this current £3.25 (reverts to £6.50 after 12m).

Even ignoring the other aspects (voucher, line rental), that means I save £160 this year and £100 next.

EDIT: Just confirmed it with a Sales guy. For some reason, despite being in an area that hasn't been unbundled (and likely won't be in the foreseeable future), I seem to be able to get their Essentials package.

We've heard this before. Get it in writing or you may be surcharged later.

Surely the in writing element is covered by the online purchase process? I.e. Your Basket:
    Monthly total incl VAT £3.25
One-off payments Value line rental - to pay today £114.00

No Im sure ive read about a surcharge in the T&C's, you need to read their T&C's.

Anyway you will regret it, you should read the things TT customers have to go through if you have a problem which seems to be you are pretty much guaranteed to have a problem

Happy TT customer here for 30 months, the best ISP I have ever been with for speeds and reliability. I would rather pour bleach in my eyes than go back to a BT (spit) 20CN service again.

Yes I was happy for the first like 8 months then it all went downhill as soon as I had a problem. Only taken 11 weeks so far to resolve and I still aint there yet.

I have been a customer of Sky, O2, TalkTalk, BT and a few smaller broadband providers over the years. I can honestly say my worst experience is with TalkTalk. O2 were good, although I did have a few outages, Sky same as O2 really.

I have never had a problem with BT ever which is why I migrated early from TT, even if I will be left with a nearly £2000 final bill which they can take me to court for!
