Nobody has judged you, just saying that it is insane to be spending that sort of money on that sort of wedding when you are in a DMP.
You ARE judging her, based on the replies, poor girl! Her original question was not being answered! It's HER prerogative how she deals with her debt!
OP unfortunately when one posts on an open forum, one will not always like the answers people give!0 -
This is a Moneysaving website. If someone posts on here about being in a DMP and that they're getting married in Mauritius, i don't think they should be surprised to get replies suggesting that this might not be a good idea.0

That is not judging - it is a fact.0 -

You saying poor Girl I don't think so more like lucky Girl who's fell on her feet by going onto a DMP and paying back pennies a month and getting married in Mauritius while people who have kept to the T&C's on their credit aggrements are struggling to put decent grub on the table.
Its pretty obvious when you get a poster like this that most posters are going think why bother.0 -

Yep. I've paid off most of my debts and made it clear to my gf that we need to move from our flat to buying a house before I will pop the question as other things need to be prioritised. It does make me shake my head when I see people on DMPs paying back small fractions but then spending irresponsibly still. This thread is an extreme example of that.0 -

.
As its THEIR prerogative to be good payers and stick to the T&Cs, it's her prerogative if she didn't/isn't etc. and if she then chooses to get married in Mauritius regardless of the expense or what we might all think its still HER CHOICE!
Anyway lets all agree to disagree, I just personally feel the question she asked should've been answered without judgement, MY opinion!0 -

Then she should have posted in the debt free forums, were they all give out hugs every 5 seconds and no one is ever judged in case someone's feelings are hurt!0 -

Agreed. But it seems posing innocent questions even hurts the feelings of some of the people in there sadly! Imagine the original post would have got 20+ thanks too despite it not being helpful in the slightest.0
