OP thank you for at least trying to get people a deal. 'you've wasted my time' is a bit harsh. Putting people off posting will mean you end up missing glitches and offers. Surely the 2 -3 minutes reading the thread isn't really so much of a hardship? The OP made a genuine mistake, and the little green online badge doesn't mean the op is actually on the site it means the page is open.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

But they'll say you're not a new customer so you wont qualify.

But if you cancel, then rejoin - you become a new customer... maybe/definitely/probably/possibly.:p

Correct, I'm within my cancellation 7 days and currently with the AA until the 10th so rejoined myself and wife separately purely on the £50 offer, a great deal still, albeit not a good as originally thought ;)

You completely miss the point. Nobody is disputing that the OP's mistake was genuine; I'm quite sure he genuinely failed to read the conditions properly. The issue is that post #5 shows he realized the error and yet his sole concern from that point was to recover his money.

OP's prime concern was his own hard earned cash. Wow. Maybe you're a better human being than me Kernel, but the reason I joined MSE was to look after my cash, not anyone else's.
If I can help others along the way that's simply a bonus.
Now stop giving the guy a hard time for trying to be helpful and making a genuine mistake.

Also think the RAC could take an idea from the AA's website. AA are currently offering Amazon vouchers for signing up, but if you link through to their website from TCB (or others) then there is no mention of the Amazon vouchers as the offer is not available when linking from another site.
RAC however is a different story, link through to their website and all the way through to the confirmation screen the free fuel is mentioned as included, with a big green tick next to it. Unless you specifically go and read the T&C's of the free fuel offer, the first time RAC mention that the free fuel offer is not available if linked from an affiliate site is AFTER you have completed the signup.

There's also no mention in the TCB T&C's of the free fuel offer not being available.

Took the RAC cover via Quidco in December and still haven't received the cashback of £45.00, even though they are meant to be a 'Faster Paying' company - May be worth going for the fuel card instead!

Although the RAC is a faster paying company on Quidco this only applies to their Retail online shop sales for car related guff. If you read the T&C's on breakdown policies I think it says there is a 3 month wait/qualifying period to check policies are still valid. I presume this is to stop those from taking out a policy and cancelling in 14 days just to get the cashback.

I posted about this offer about a week ago:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4489049

I did mention that the cashback and fuel card was possibly not available. When you sign up to the RAC it offers the fuel card, but it does mention fairly clearly that the fuel card isn't available if you go through an affiliate/cashback site. I figured that £12.50 over 12months on another bleedin hassle of a card I don't want in my overbulging wallet was a waste of time and I'd rather have £50 dumped into my account in one go.
