    Go for it.

Why be the same as everyone else!

I wore a v beautiful red dress as after have 4 kids white wasnt really my colour IYKWIM ;)

Every commented on how stunning dress was and no one was bothered about the colour.

You know what did bother people was that i had a small wedding cake with cupcake tiers in stead of tiers of cake??????
Mind this was 4 years ago before everyone was having cupcakes.

I was determined I'd wear a dark purple dress but in the end I wore silver and my stepdaughter who was bridesmaid wore Cadbury purple. I wore purple shoes and had purple in my jewellery though - no way I going totally purple-less!
I think the black dress is lovely but you have to feel sure and comfortable in it; wear it if you love it and really want to, but if you're having doubts think hard as you do need to feel properly relaxed in whatever you wear

When I read the title of the thread I thought 'Ugh! No way. Miserable!' but seeing the pics they are very classy and stunning dresses.

I think the ones with the least black (lace or overlay) are much nicer than the solid black ones.

But it depends on your setting and theme, e.g. a black dress would not have suited my beach wedding location, but (I think) would suit a country house type do.

Look forward to seeing your photos! Jo.x

Edit: If you feel a million dollars in one of these dresses then wear it!
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.
  • I think if you love it, then go for it. But I sometimes see brides in dresses where they've just wanted to look different, rather than loving the dress. I wore white, and a veil and the whole shebang as it's the only day I'll get to. I could wear a big red/black/multicoloured dress to a party if I wanted.
