O/S Daily Sunday 03 March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Bit better time of day now. The Suns up here, We have had a light frost over night,
I think today Has got to be dry again round here. They said that it would be cloudy here yesterday but the sun was out for might of the day. It was lovely in the Sun but chilly in the shade. I'm hoping for more of the same today, A bit of Sunlight can make you feel a whole lot better in yourself. Over the years Iv started to think that I might suffer with that SAD thing. Well up to point anyway.
Today the Girls are not at my wife's Mums and dads. But they do have a full day planned.
They will be at Church/Sunday school this morning and then they are at the dancing. They are taking part In a show In June. the dance place do one every year for charity. At one of the local town hall. Starting from two weeks ago. The Girls will go once every two week's On a Sunday for one and a half hours to learn the bits of stiff that they will take part in for the show.
And If that's not enough for them to be getting on with.
After dance they have a Birthday party to go to from one of the little boys at school out of twin 2's class. Both girls have been invited. That.s at a local counmmity center, Mum has told us that;s its a traditional kids party. Kids cold buffet , Games and music.
There is a bit of a fad at the moment of having kids party's at these indoor play areas. We have been to loads over the last few years.
Our Girls had a traditional party for there birthday last year. On cost? Well I don't think there would be much In it. Over all. But I like the more traditional party's, It show that Mum/Dad or who ever has put a little bit of effect into it.
But of course, Not everyone dose have the time. And the Kids all seem to like the indoor play areas. Our go potty when they here they are going to one.
We will eat dinner tonight after the Girls have had there busy day.
Roast Beef and Yorkshires for us.
Well I hope that you all enjoy your Sunday.
Enjoy:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning all!
Got lots to do but have zero motivation at all!Got to get myself organised - cleaning / ironing / baking to do as well as gardening.
Back to work tomorrow after a week off so I really should be getting everything at home up to date but I would rather laze around and read a book.0 -
Morning Halight and Angel Jenny and all who cross or follow,
Molly, LW and Hilstep Hugs.
Up early to perform my job as house alarm clock, DD2 has netball, DS has rugby and DD1 has a Duke of Edinburg walk, I am going along to the netball but NOT to play!
Today will be spent tidying and sorting the house, it got into a real tip over half term and I am not happy in a total mess.
It is also a friend's birthday and I will be popping over with her present (We have been friends for nearly 30 years!)
Tea tonight is roast chicken.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Wetabix and Banana cake,
Sorry Iv been trying to rack my brains to remember who gave me the recipe the other day, But I'm sorry to say that, that bit of info has fallen out of my head.
Anyway Id like to thank to lady who did. My wife and kids had a go at making it yesterday afternoon. It turned out great! The kids loved it and so did I.
Nice and easy, cheep and tasty too
I have a feeling that we shall be cooking that one quite a lot.
Many thanks:T:T:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Good morning everyone
After a dull start, yesterday turned into a beautiful day so am hoping today does the same. I already have all the bathroom stuff in the washing machine.
I think I have caught DH's cold, went to bed with a sore throat and I still have that, plus a banging headache and some serious sniffles. I am not impressed but I need to get on with things so it's tough luck
Veggies for a batch of soup are prepared so need to sort that out. My old freezer contents are now transferred onto a meal planner list so will complete that for this week. New farm shop purchases are in separate freezer drawer and will not be touched until the old stock is used up. First on meal plan list is smoked salmon left over from Christmas, which will go into pasta this week.
I liked the cheese nabs and bits and bobs, my DGG named it a pick meal in our house!
DH has just woken up so I can run around and start cleaning now, then he will get out of bed and I can strip our bed.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all
We used to call it a picky tea, I don't do it now there is only 2 of us.
Sorry you aren't sleeping well Halight, hugs to Molly, LW & Hilstep.
I've fed the fish & counted the newbies, we bought 3 tiny clown loach yesterday as our last 2 died within a week of each other, we'd had them a long time so they'd had a good innings.
We had a phone call last night around 8ish, one of the contractors at work had left his jacket & keys in one of the classrooms, he's not due to come back so I'll post them off to him.
Roast beef for dinner today, with yorkies, roasties, spring greens & carrots. I'll do it for around 3ish, hubby should be home by then.
More housework & more crochet for me today.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Dry and bright here, lets hope for another day like yesterday, I can see a hint of spring peeping round the corner.
Yesterday OH and I walked for hours round a local harbour / nature reserve, came home covered in mud and tired, but with one happy dog
Dropping dd at work this morning, then home to shower, then quick tidy round, our bedding is in the wm, so will get that on the line.
Need to do some ebay listings this afternoon, jacket spud for dinner today dd will have pasta of some sort.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Light cloud, no wind but dry - and no rain forecast. Was a real dull cloudy start yesterday but by lunchtime sun had got out and it was another beautiful day, hoping we get some more sunshine, as Halight said it does light the spirits somewhat and makes you feel generally better.
Dinner last night was a naughty takeaway - I 'd got everything in to make prawns in black bean sauce, mushroom chow mein and HM veg rice, I'd got prawns out to defrost - hubby and I popped out as soon as he got in from his course - I thought the prawns would have defrosted in that time - it said the defrost time on the back of the packet and when we got back they were still frozen and it was getting late - so succumbed to a takeaway - upside was it was again lovely and they delivered fairly quickly. We're thinking they either have a new chef or as we don't have them very often it's a more enjoyable treat! So that meal has been shifted to Monday night. Lunch today will be roast pork with all the trimmings.
Was reasonably productive yesterday - dad phoned first thing to ask if I could take him to the garage in the next town as they had phoned to say his blade had arrived and was ready to be collected - in short 2 weeks ago he locked his keys in his car and they couldn't find the spare set - so have been waiting for this blade to be made and sent from abroad so he can get into the car and retrieve the keys! Expensive mistake and loads of hassle! bet he won't do it again though! Can't fault the car's security though!!
When I got back from mum and dad's and helping them get into the car - didn't want just to come away as this blade was just a bit of plastic and wasn't that easy to use but we got there in the end - dad was starting to get frustrated because he couldn't make it do what the garage people said it would - so I did it, opened the car then he got in and located the keys and switched the very noisy alarm etc off.
I came home fed the boys and myself - then made 2 doz mince pies, tray of choc brownies, and tray of twinks - that should keep everyone quiet for a while. DS1 going into school for 3 hour revision session as he has a Maths exam tomorrow - so am going to get ready to take him shortly.
Have a peaceful restful Sunday before the paid stuff starts again tomorrow.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everybody
Cloudy here today, yesterday was such a beautiful day , it was lovely to have the washing on the line and to potter in the garden, I trimmed a small hedge and cut back lots of dead stuff ready for the new shoots to take over
Went to the launch of my brothers pub last night , he has been there about a month or two and completely refurbished it , and thankfully it was packed , he had done a buffet and there was a Michael Buble tribute act who was very good , had a great night
Busy day planned today too , going to meadow hall, with the DDs then a bit of food shopping then we will be taking dd1 back to uni . There's no time to cook a Sunday lunch , but I cooked a chicken yesterday , people can just help themselves
Have a good day everyone xx
