Hi there!
I currently have the Galaxy Nexus and looking to replace it with the Nexus 4. I have tried the phone several times in shops, read reviews and seen the hundreds of videos on Youtube and have noticed some negative things that might affect my purchase like:
1. Short battery life - even at 2100mAh and with minimal usage it still doesn't quite last for a whole day even on standby.
2. A not-so sharp screen - using this so-called "grey screen" test it was shown to be weaker than the previous-gen Galaxy Nexus
3. Wifi bugs - again when the phone is held in a specific way the wifi signal becomes affected
4. Muffled incoming calls
5. Frequency distortions when a headphone is connected
6. Weak & tiny speakers sound (just like Galaxy Nexus)
7. Very poor speaker grill placement
8. An "average" camera photos
Aside from the hardware issue has the other issues been resolved via software updates? And is Google aware of these issues?
We all know the wonderful and powerful specs (and OS) the Nexus 4 has but these issues seems to be on my head.
Please advice. Thanks.

Got a Nexus 4 form Google for £279 sim free & sold my iPhone 4s & never looked back. The battery lasts all day no problem at all.I've not encountered any of the issues that you've listed.0

I managed to get a Nexus 4 in the second tranche to go on sale which I received just before Christmas. I haven't really suffered from any of the issues you list, although I tend to use a real camera for taking photos so can't comment on the quality of the phone camera. I've only occasionally had to charge the battery before the end of the day, and I often go 3 - 4 days between charges. I'd say it's definitely worth buying SIM free, if you don't like it then you can sell it without being stuck in a 2 year contract.0

The op has a nasty habit of posting threads asking for advice, then disagreeing with any advice received and making stuff up - I would advise anyone thinking of taking the time to reply to this op, don't - just look at the posting history of this individualThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Adjust your contrast and all will be revealed:DThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
OP as for point 6 its a phone so of course the speakers are going to be weak and tiny as its a phone not a HiFi system with some kick !!! speakers.
Same for point 8, the camera isn't going to be as good as a dedicated camera worth say £500.0 -
I got my Nexus4 from google last week.
Only "downside" i've noticed is lower than usual 3G signal notification. The underlying signal strength is the same, it's just the formula to work out signal strength graphics is skewed towards stronger signal strengths. than my old sansung.Laters

Short battery life - even at 2100mAh...
- Two AA cells of the aforementioned capacity can power a handheld whisk far longer than they will a tiny supercomputer. If you want something with stamina it'll have to be either heavier or dumber.
- If it looks okay to you the results of a poorly-understood benchmark shouldn't matter.
