halifax monthly £5 reward

You may well/probably get a grace period for a new account.
Also, the T&C's say:
"We may review your account from time to time and if you have not kept a minimum of two different direct debit mandates on your account at all times, we may change your account to the Current Account, or if this account is no longer available, to a standard current account with similar features to the Current Account. We’ll give you at least two months’ notice before doing so."
Therefore, if you missed any first review/sweep of reviews that they may have done after the terms changed, you might be able to fly under the radar until any further review.
I'd suggest getting that 2nd active DD on there though to make sure you keep the reward.0 -
i didn't get it
i guess the DD's had to actually exit the account and not just be set-up?0 -
lol.. I suppose I may put on my 'I'm unable to read prior posts' cap and ask why did I not receive my fiver this month.
I guess it's because I only opened the account yesterday....
Edit: Just logged on and noticed my £100 sign-up bonus. Great offer - it's more than enough to cover my two direct debits for this month, assuming the switching service switches them over before they're due. Without the sign-up bonus, I'd be rushing out to have enough to cover the direct debits in both accounts (just in case)...0 -
Bah - I didn't get my £5 this month.
Been getting it for a few years now, but never set up any DDs on the account. This is the first month they have caught up with me.I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -

It's the first £5 payment due after the two Direct Debit rule came in, so you haven't previously slipped through the net; you've been caught in a new one.
You'll probably have to call 0845 7203040 to get the Reward account reinstated. Make sure you have coffee and biscuits with you. It's quite a long process.0 -

Thanks. Okay this might be a dumb question, do standing orders count? I have just set up a standing order to make monthly overpayments to my mortgage. (this is separate from the regular monthly mortgage direct debit)0 -
No standing orders don't count, only direct debits.0
