First time i went - the man dropped the template onto the box.

So next time, i put the biggest side - which was slightly over 16cm - at the bottom. But this time he picked MY box up to drop it into the template. It therefore need a push to go in.

    One side always seems bigger.

My parcel got dropped through too - onto the floor from waist height  - good job it was well packed.

can someone post a link for small parcel sized bags. suitable for sending kids clothes.tia

You can go up to 17" long.

But 10" x 14" should be more than big enough for kids clothes.

Just remember that larger bags allow the clothes to be folded less - to keep the thinkness of tha package spread out below the 8cm.

Those with OBA accounts, please could you confirm where you drop your parcels off please? (Those who don't pay for collections). Thanks :o

you would need to check with the DO before doing this.
If it were me I wold be asking when the items would be collected from the DO
DOs dont have a far different collection set up to Post Offices
So you want to know how long your items will be sitting as it could cost you a day
also make sure the dO staff know what to do. IME this is something most DO staff wont know
if its a mail centre(that accepts drop offs) then you get the benefit of no collection issues

Can you definitely drop off RM24/48 parcels at a post office? Because I noticed in the T&Cs it says "parcels are either collected by us or can be delivered into our agreed local Mail Centre or regional Distribution Centre. Parcels cannot be delivered into a Delivery Office or Post Office" (their bolding). Which alarmed me! But it may be that this only applies to the tracked stuff - it's not very clear. :-/

You quoted my post referring ot a delivery office
so are you talking about DOs or Post Offices?

    Post offices.

I would expect it to be fine, assuming all the usual caveats
I dont know what info the POs get TBH
An old collegue told me a rurla PO had been holding packets that had a delivery attempt for 1/2 days
because they thought thats what the 24/48 referred to

hi, wondering if anyone can confirm this:

i havent read the whole thread all the way through, will be doing that tonight though!
im trying to get some ebay items on right now but im looking at the royal mail leaflet and ive read the first page of this thread.

am i right in thinking for a small parcel the max dimensions are:

    L-45, W- 35 and D 8cm?

but there is an exception in the small print where it says parcels measuring up to 16x16x16?

 so does that mean i can have an item that has a depth of 16cm go as a small parcel but as long as the L and W also dont measure more than 16?

so for example a 14x13x15 item would still go as a small parcel as well?
